Great mix with newer songs. Uplifting trance vocals, good song selection combine to make a good CD for any collector of trance music.

High energy creative mix,

This is an excellent collection of high-energy, danceable, electronic music with good melodies and light female vocals. It's not overly repetitive, and there are very few "atmospheric" slow parts. I love listening to this CD while working out.

this album MOVES me,

This review is from: Re: Vive Trance (Audio CD)
This album moves me. I've have contributed only one book review, two years ago. This is my first music review, so you know this album moves me. I had hoped to buy another copy for a friend, only to find it listed as discontinued, darn, but as long as I am here, I might as well share my praise for it. So do search for it used. Tracks 6, 7, 8, and 9 are so good that I play them again and again and again, and three years later still have not tired of them. The music I love most are Beethoven, Bach, and all the other dead white German and Austrian males, so be assured my standards are high. The fact that most of the composers on this album are German and neighboring Dutch may contribute to their quality, but the lyrics are all in more universally understood English. And don't be dissuaded by the trashy cover photo of a sultry woman, which may have doomed this album to commercial failure.

Best of its kind,

I liked it so much that, when it 'disappeared' at work, I had to scour the Web and send away to the USA for another one, which is a good recommendation in itself!Below is my UK review. In addition, I'd like to mention that, yes, there are 2 or 3 tracks with no girly vocal, so I understand someone's annoyance - but these tracks DO act as a breather / interlude and I personally find that fine. If you like the earlier 'Anjuna Beats' compilations or AVB / Tiesto vocal tracks, you will prob like this. Regards to Female Ubervoicemeisters Justine Suissa and Salford's very own Jan Johnston! That UK review in full - Really great album of its genre. Melodic, euphoric, pretty well mixed, although some tracks cut rather than blend into each other. Big synth washes, building climaxes, etc. etc. At the same time, it's pretty 'driving' and keeps going and going. Best track for me is Mike Koglin's 'Time', but nearly all are great. You'll like this if you like the prettier girly moments from Gatecrasher / Tiesto / Van Buuren / Corsten. It's heading very slightly towards cheese lite, but no speeded-up vocals or gimmicks. As title says, nearly all tracks have a girly vocal. If you don't like that, avoid!

The Ultimate,

After just getting into trance about a year ago I have found the near perfect album. I bought this by utter chance without hearing a word and was instantly blown away. This is what trance should be and the album I play for people who don't appreciate good trance music. Melodic, uplifting, euphoric music that grabs you from the beginning and pulls you right in. If you like this kind of music...look no further

A decent, upbeat mix,

This CD is pretty good. It's uplifting, melodic with high BPM (beats per minute). Great to work out to. I give it a 3 only because it would have to be mind blowing to recieve a 4 or 5 from me. But it is definitely good, the mix flows nice and the music is pretty tight.

When I read the title and CD's decription, I expected all the songs to feature great vocals set to house/techno music. I soon discovered that wasn't the case. One song has absolutely no vocals, and most of the other songs don't feature much vocal work at all. It's too bad, because there are some amazing singers out there who could easily make a cd like this take off... but all they need is some space on the CD to do their thing. This CD could have been much, much better. Don't pay full price! Get it used. |
