Excellent!
I've read virtually every "Internet" book and found this to be singly the best. I'm recommending it to everyone. Great advice, great examples. All around great.

Misleading title
The word "management" in the subtitle threw me. This book is mainly for managers who are looking to make money, rather than manage, on the web, While Chapter 4, "The Network Inside," is on Intranets, and Chapter 6, "The Medium is the Message" (how's that for cliché?) is on newsgroups and other feedback mechanisms, the bulk of the book...

GPA - Good Practical Advice, August 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Re-Wiring Business: Uniting Management and the Web (Hardcover)
I found the book extremely pragmatic, sometimes to the point of overkill, but better that than no examples at all. Points are well made, found the strategy discussion excellent and timeless, and overall the authors seem to avoid technology recommendations, focusing instead on strategic matters. Overall, well worth the money. Felt like a conversation with the authors rather than a stuffy, "this is how you do it or else" usually reserved for this category.

That's fine, but it's not centered around management/organizational issues. What's left is kind of interesting but not exactly content-rich. The "pragmatic" aspects of the book, while they should enthuse sales and marketing types, are not developed enough to give direction to the technophiles. I was hoping for something with a little more meat.
