Destined to be a travel writer, Matthew grew up on his father's 52-foot sailboat during his teenage years, cruising around Southeast Asia and the Pacific. He has spent time in over 65 countries and Antarctica, and he worked side by side for years with guidebook pioneer Arthur Frommer at his travel magazine. An avid kayaker, rock climber, hiker, snowboarder, and skin diver, Matthew is also interested in the meaningful, life-changing facets of personal journeys. Africa is his all-time favorite destination, and perhaps future home.
