5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have!
This book is a must have for both the beginning teacher and the veterans. There are thousands of hands-on practical ideas that you can use tomorrow to reach all the students in your classroom. Some of the catagories range from English language learners, gifted, ADHD, to communication disorders. The best part of this book is that is all in one place. I wish someone...

2.0 out of 5 stars Better for Elementary or MIddle School
I have to say I was a little disappointed. I read the previous reviews and really looked forward to getting this book. My position was recently changed to a Grade 9 Algebra Inclusion Teacher and I thought this would be a great resource. There were very few math activities and none of them applied to high school curriculum. Some of the reproducables were helpful. This...

This review is from: How To Reach & Teach All Students in the Inclusive Classroom: Ready-to-Use Strategies Lessons & Activities Teaching Students with Diverse Learning Needs (J-B Ed: Reach and Teach) (Paperback)
As a Special Educator I encourage every teacher to purchase this book. It is up-to-date on the latest and most innovative teaching practices. The book is loaded with reproducibles that a teacher can use immediately. Sandra Rief and Julie Heimberge not only explain the needs of diverse learners, but have ready-to-use strategies, lessons, and fun activities so that all students may succeed. Gifted, learning disabled, culturally diverse, ADHD, communication disorders, multiple intellegences, learning styles, and developmental classrooms are some of the subjects addressed in their book. Every school district should use this book as part of their professional development. WELL DONE!

5.0 out of 5 stars Should be a college text, October 1, 2006
This review is from: How To Reach & Teach All Students in the Inclusive Classroom: Ready-to-Use Strategies Lessons & Activities Teaching Students with Diverse Learning Needs (J-B Ed: Reach and Teach) (Paperback)
Maybe some colleges are using it as a text. I don't know. This book makes it easy to find many helpful ideas for helping all children in the regular classroom.

In many school systems, the classroom teacher and the parents have one or two meetings a year with the special education team. Here they gain insights from the team and from the psychological evaluation. These evaluations are often locked away for the sake of privacy at school although parents are allowed to have a copy. Access to the information is not easy for other teachers although it could help them address the children's needs better. This book is well worth studying and applying its suggestions.

My position was recently changed to a Grade 9 Algebra Inclusion Teacher and I thought this would be a great resource. This book is probably great for a upper elementary or middle school teacher.
