No blame here,
By A Customer
This review is from: Reaching the Autistic Child, 2nd Edition: A Parent Training Program (Paperback)
The London reviewer must have found what he or she wanted to find, but I can't see any parent blaming here. In fact, Kozloff wrote, "...although the behavior of the parents in part maintains the autistic behavior of the child, the parents...cannot be blamed." The rest of the book helps parents to get out of the vicious circles they and their children are stuck in--by showing parents how to teach their children to make eye contact, play, speak, and participate in family routines.

Grounded firmly in experience and behavioral psychology,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Reaching the Autistic Child, 2nd Edition: A Parent Training Program (Paperback)
Now in a revised and updated edition, Reaching The Autistic Child: A Parent Training Program by academician, educator, and autism expert Martin A. Kozloff, presents a program created and designed to help the autistic child develop new patterns of behavior to better function in the world. Emphasizing the means to teach a child basic skills of speech and cooperation, and to realize intellectual and emotional potentials, Reaching The Autistic Child consists both of a description of general techniques and several very detailed and positive anecdotal case studies. An excellent guide grounded firmly in experience and behavioral psychology, Reaching The Autistic Child is an essential, core contribution to Autism Studies and Disability Education reference collections and reading lists.
