1.0 out of 5 stars Awful, Just plain Bad....
I am so so so so disappointed in this cd. I am/was a pretty big Larue fan. But this cd is awful. It is so slow and depressing there are NO, NONE, upbeat fast songs that I love. It is awful. DO NOT BUY THIS.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!, December 30, 2002

I'm new to LaRue, and I was VERY impressed with this CD! I bought their 2000 album ("Transparent") too, and also enjoyed it. This one they both sound much more mature. The words are deeper, and the music is edgier than in "Transparent". The title is also a reaccuring theme in the CD. Many of the songs center around "reaching" for God and the desire to be in His presence. Natalie and Phillip harmonize beautifully! You can hear the passion in the way they sing. I believe they both have a sincere love for God and it shows. There are a few slow songs that compliment the album nicely. Among my favorites are "Summertime," "Tonight," and "Unite" but all of the songs are fantastic! I have listened to "Reaching" again and again and still I'm not tired of it. The words become more meaningful with each listen. I HIGHLY recommend this album to anyone looking for an upbeat, unique sound with wholesome and inspiring lyrics. The enhanced version has graphics, photos, and other cool stuff. You will not regret buying this CD, I assure you! Enjoy! :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful 3rd Release From LaRue!!!, October 13, 2002

Wow! This CD is awsome. The 1st CD was really good, the 2nd CD was even better, and this CD is the best! Phillip LaRue seems to have more vocals on this album than he had on the other ones, and both Phillip and Natalie LaRue have improved vocally since the previous CDs. "Reaching" has a perfect blend of slow songs and more up-beat songs. My favorite slow song is "Trinity", and the best Up-beat song in my opinion is "Reaching" (the title track). I can't really make up my mind which CD I like better, "Transparent" or "Reaching", but that's why I have both : ) Get it!, Get All 3!, You Will Not Be Disappointed By LaRue's New CD! IT'S AWSOME!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Philip and Natalie. Great Music!, November 7, 2007

I was a promoter of Christian Concerts in six states from 2000-2006. I have worked with 230 plus different artists. Very few artists I have worked with have made the impact on me as Philip and Natalie LaRue. The last I saw them was over 3 years ago, but these two have a passion for Jesus Christ that is so genuine. Their vocals blend so beautifully that it instantly touches most listeners. Transparent and Reaching are my favorite CD's but it does not matter which one you listen to. Their music makes you want to simply turn off all distractions and just listen. It is timeless. I got to spend the day with Philip and Natalie during a performace scheduled at Reardon Auditorium in Anderson, IN. The day started out with an interview with Eli and LaRue on 98.7FM to a concert that night with LaRue, Jon McLaughlin, Eli and Downhere. It was not a tour. Just a night where all four artists were traveling through town. It turned out to be one of the most spectacular concerts I have ever coordinated. All hands seem to be lifted high when all four groups closed the night singing together the song 'God of Wonders'. I took photos of the night and as I photographed during that last song, I felt as if I was in slow motion, in a room of 600 students and I was the only person in the room with my eyes open. It moved me. Thank you for the memory Philip and Natalie. Amazonians ... If you have not listened to Philip and Natalie, give it a try. I recommend the two mentioned earlier, but they are all good. This CD has the song Trinity, an amazing song to hear live. Philip performs acoustic and Natalie sings and dances in her bare feet.

5.0 out of 5 stars one out of two of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard., September 20, 2006

I just got the cd "Reaching" yesterday. I just had to tell you what I thought of it. It is one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard. I really mean that. And I have alot of cds. On most of the songs I got chills repeatedly. It is an incredible album. I was thinking, "they should have gotten an award for this." It was Very touching. and moving. it was a beautiful experience. When the cd reached the end I didn't want to open my eyes and return to earth. I know that sounds cheesy but that is really how I felt. That cd is just so beautiful. Phillip and Natalie really have a special gift. their songs are so genuine and have beautiful lyrics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Album start to finish, June 21, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Reaching (Audio CD)
Okay this brother and sister duo are truly anointed. I first heard them a few months ago when I heard the song "Someday" (from their first album) on the radio. I had some trouble locating the first album but stumbled across this, their third, and decided to give it a shot. Immediately I was blown away by the vocals, and the music and the lyrics. All three blend together absolutely beautifully. Phillip and Natalies voices blend together amazingly, though they are both so very different. Phillips has a raspy alternative qaulity to it and Natalie's displays a range and power that is the mark of a true vocal talent. The lyrics are powerful, you can hear the emotional ache in Natalie's voice in the song "Without You". The CD's core message (which Natalie and Phillip discuss in the enhanced video interview) is about getting back to the basics of your relationship with your creator. Worshipful songs such as "Trinity" and "Tonight" examine devotion to God. "Summertime" is a catchy upbeat track about love and devotion to that one person God has intended for each of us. All in all "Reaching" is an anointed album from the beginning to the hidden track at the end. I played it while doing my daily devotional and discovered that behind the flawless vocals and moving lyrics is a collection of songs worshipping the one who created us all. Enjoy and God bless :)

5.0 out of 5 stars My first taste of LaRUE, November 9, 2002

Well,

I don't have any of their other CDs. I heard a song of theirs on Christian radio, I didn't know what CD it was from, but took a chance thinking it was their latest, indeed it was. Right from the opening track, the CD blasts off with catchy melodic hooks, and deeply reverent lyrics. Quite different from the mainstream, but that is a HUGELY good THING! Nathalie's vocals are incredibly outstanding, very robust and very rare in the Christian music arena.

I'm disappointed with the person's review before me, an album should not be judged on sound. Frankly , in my opinion, the music on this album is really great, but even better are the dedicatory lyrics to Christ. HE is all that matters, as long as the music is Christ centered, and the MORE music is Christ centered, the better it is.

This is a great album, the song that I was after, turned out being on this album, and well... there are plenty of other songs that have surpassed even that one that made me seek out this album in the first place.

God Bless you all,
Romans 12:5

5.0 out of 5 stars Third Outing is Great, October 22, 2002
This review is from: Reaching (Audio CD)
Larue once again makes an impression on Christian music with it's third cd. They totally change direction musically but not vocally. The acoustic sound of both earlier releases is gone and gives way to an edgier sound which really works well for this CD. The opening track is simply amazing and the guitar work on this track is fantastic. I really like the new sound. Vocally the duo is stronger than ever and brother and sister seem to have really grown up since the last cd. I am a huge Larue fan and am glad to see this new direction for them. Don't expect to hear the first two cd's when you purchase this one. It's still Larue, but with a new sound. An indication they are growing artistically.
