These past few years, Chicago has been pouring out sucessful youth choirs such as New Direction and Joshua's Troop but ain't none of them have anything on the original. The Soul Children of Chicago. Each and every song on the album gives you the answer on why they are singing and reaching every nation for as long as they did. Walt Whitman knows how to train is choir so that way when they get older most of them just did a transformation to the Thompson Community Singers. I already taught my youth choir two songs from the album. The also take you down memory lane with the songs Higher, Higher and He's alive which were songs that were song in churches across this nation. From the opener which is called The Charge onto the ending which is the Shabach remix, You can feel the presence of God on each and every song. This is a very good CD. Every track is worth listening to with my favorite being "Help Me", what a powerful song.
