5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book - objective, beautiful, sometimes chilling, January 31, 2000

An informative, wonderful, and chilling read - I recommend it to anyone who is interested in the CE4 phenomenon. This book gives the reader a good look at what it is like both to be an experiencer, and to be a therapist who works with experiencers. It has a lot of excellent insights for both. What I liked most was that Constance avoided interjecting her own views on the close encounter phenomenon. I also liked Constance's appendix material, including her example Ericksonian induction.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Startling Reality Among Us, March 7, 2001

It is not about Aliens that are perhaps here and that maybe they are abudcting people like you and I. It is also not about trying to determine their motives and other clandestine reasons behind the abductions. Throw out the word 'maybe' and as for hypothesis'.....well, you will be trying to reach for a comforting one by the time you finish reading this engrossing book. The author and the 'experiencers' that are from all walks of life clearly demonstrate to us that our cozy little reality is not what it seems. Fascinating reading for anyone not only interested in the abduction process but how these unwanted intrussions affect the abductee's life as well as those around them. Professionally researched and documented by a clinician who thouroughly understands the psycholigical dynamics that are involved. Highly recommended.

The fact that Constance doesn't offer any hypothesis of her own is uniquely refreshing. Where else are you going to find seven first hand accounts of alien abduction?

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally! An intelligent, compassionate book!, March 11, 2005

Constance Clear lets the abductees tell their stories in their own words, and boy are they doozies! Of particular interest in the complex case of Daniel, which in many ways parallels that of Betty Luca. The final story about Sara is a MUST-READ for those of us who are involved in this phenomena who want to learn how to overcome their fears.

5.0 out of 5 stars Personal Friend, April 25, 2010
This review is from: Reaching for Reality: Seven Incredible True Stories of Alien Abduction (Paperback)
Constance was an amazing person. I know the individuals in this book. Reading this book, happening to live in the same town was how I met Constance. I was not a patient just a friend. Even in her private life she remained impartial and made a careful decision not to take sides (is this a positive or negative phenomenon)but instead provided support in any decision that was best and the truth for the experiencer. These event continue to this day, they wax and wane. This effects every aspect of your life, your relationships, your tolerance of those around you. After all how can you empathize with a flat tire in the pouring rain when you remember in vivid detail something no one will ever believe. We all miss Constance she died doing what she loved best and our only hope is that she is happy, healthy and content where ever she is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Reading!, February 8, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Reaching for Reality: Seven Incredible True Stories of Alien Abduction (Paperback)
For anyone out there that wants to know more about Alien Abduction that is a must read. At times I got pretty angry while I was reading this book, to see that this people had no control over what is happening to them. The lack of feelings from this beings is very scary, like a trapped animail, we react the same way when harm is done to us, we want to fight back. What give them the right to hurt us and use us for tests like lap rats. I recommend this book highly. I wish there were more new prints to give away to friends and family members as a present, but there are not many copies out there to get, unless you are willing to pay a high price from others who have them. I hope the publisher will print more of this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The book was very realistic and it scared me., September 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Reaching for Reality: Seven Incredible True Stories of Alien Abduction (Paperback)
My favorite story was Andrew's story. It was so realistic and it was touching because of his age and 54 years after he started being tormented he sought help. The way he saw his 1st grade girlfriend on the vessel was really weird. All together the book was good. It was so good I couldnt put it down. I liked this book very much and I am going to order it for my mother.
