The best Boddy/Rich collaboration....so far, November 10, 2011

Ian Boddy and Robert Rich have collaborated in a number of occassions always producing music that's very challenging and hard to categorize.
None of their previous collaborations has been a purely ambient or a purely electronic record but a perfect balance of their individual styles. However, REACT seems to have taken this musical balance a step further. The album is very dark with ethnic undertones which seem to be processed through Boddy's amazing artillery of synths and gear. At first, this may sound like a huge mess of abstract sounds and effects but after repeated listenings the layers start to slowly emerge one after the other showing that there are great yet dark melodies, throbbing and pulsating programmings and an incredible will to compose experimental pieces without losing the focus on the original idea. A thoroughly recommended record.
