I read this with my daughter who has just turned 3 & she really enjoys it. We read it every night before she goes to sleep. It's simple, all the stories are simplified very well. I agree with the other review stating that the snake in the garden is never explained as Satan, etc. I really like how the death of Jesus is played out in this book. It shows that Jesus was whipped & received a crown of thorns without being graphic.
My biggest complaint with this book would be during the story of Noah, it's telling how the last animal boarded the ark & the rain began to pour, but the words are on the wrong pages of the pictures. So when I get to that part, I have to read the right side page first while pointing to the left page pictures, and then the left page words while pointing to the right page pictures, if that makes sense.
Other than that, I love this book. I would suggest it to anyone who has young children. It's a good buy.

Dennis G. Jones' illustrations are what make this book outstanding. Not only are they full of fun details, but Jones' style is stylized, making Jesus (for example) look like a superhero from The Incredibles. They bring great life to the book.

The stories themselves are told in a simple fashion. We have the story of creation; the fall; Noah and the ark; baby Moses and Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt; Jericho; David and Goliath; Daniel and the lion's den; Jonah; Jesus' birth; Jesus and John the Baptist; Jesus calming the storm; the parable of the good Samaritan, the lost son, and the lost sheep; the story of the ten lepers; Jesus with the children; Jesus' death and resurrection; and Jesus' acent into Heaven with a promise of sending that he will return again.

What I Like: I love, love, love the illustrations. They are different and fun for both kids and parents. Overall, this is a delightful book that illicited many responses from my four year old. For example, she laughed and told Jonah he was naughty as he was swallowed by the big fish, and sighed with happiness as I read her the section about Jesus loving the little children.

I also like how some sections of the Bible are summarized. For example, in the section mentioning the Jews wandering in the desert for 40 years, we see a board game-like illustration, complete with dashed movement marks and little sections showing people gathering manna, chasing quail, worshiping a golden calf, etc.

What I Dislike: While I think the writing in this book is generally good, I have a few problems with cit. For example, the snake in the Garden of Eden is never described as being Satan. In addition, sometimes things or people are mentioned, but no explanation is given. For instance, in the story of Jericho, the ark of the covenant is mention - but going by this book alone, we have no idea what it is. In the story of Jesus praying in the garden, Judas is mentioned - but once again, going by this book alone, we have no idea who he is. In addition, we never see Mary meeting with an angel to tell her she's giving birth to the Savior.

Overall Rating: Despite these flaws, the illustrations in this book are so exceptional this might be my favorite pick for a Bible storybook for toddlers. I give it a rating of Very Good.

I have 2 other versions of this kids bible. One is in Thai and the other is the regular English "Read With Me Bible". I really like the toddler version best now because the stories are shorter than the older kid version. The others will come in handy as he gets older. The biggest down fall like others have stated is that during the story of Noah, it's telling how the last animal boarded the ark & the rain began to pour, but the words are on the wrong pages of the pictures. However this is not a big deal to me since there are so many other stories to read.

i love this bible. i saw it long before i had a child and once sh arrived i knew i wanted it. it's great.

it has two things i appreciate very much: the bible and great art.

the bible stories are accurate to the complete story. i read a review from someone saying that they were displeased because in the genesis garden of eden story the author didn't mention that the snake represented satan. well, the bible doesn't mention it either, at least not in genesis. i find that the stories convey what a child needs to understand. the words are very simple and to the point.

the artwork is amazing. i love it. sometimes my daughter just stares at the pictures. to be fair, shes only 3 months old. the ceiling fan is her best friend. but still. i'm an artist and i just love to look at the pictures.

all in all this is a great buy. there is one thing i have against it: normally, once a kids bible gets past acts it jumps all the way to revelation. there is nothing mentioned about the epistles and other books. i know that there are good lessons that can be portrayed visually in those books. at least have the main idea about the book. i feel that is sorely lacking in alot of kids bibles. thats why i gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

but like i said, i love this bible and the one for older kids. even when my girl has outgrown them they will still be in my library.

This is perfect for little toddlers. The sentences are short and to the point. It is written in toddler friendly language. Definitely a must for any Christian family!

The illustrations in this book are nothing short of magnificent. Colorful and hilarious , they should attract any child old enough to turn the pages - which are of sturdy stock. There is nothing "holier than thou" about the characters portrayed. The number of words is limited; it is up to the parent or older reader to move the story along. This is great for the readers. Hopefully, it encourages them to check out the Bible story text to acquaint or reacquaint them with the particular story to get the facts straight. For toddlers this doesn't involve much detail; just enough to give them the sense of what is going on. This is a charming introduction to the Bible for very young children.

Incrediable illustrations that protray movement and action. The angels are drawn as mighty and Jesus looks like a man of action (not wimpy). The wording is also wonderful- easeir to understand but true to the original biblical text.
Also great for a new reader.

This is the very best toddler Bible I have ever found! My baby (2 1/2) loves it and I like how the characters are very strong. All stories are true to God's word. Awesome Bible.
