5.0 out of 5 stars a bucket of rock, August 27, 2002

I also saw these guys on tour with the impossible and UFB in Washington DC. They blew me away, and I'm not easily blown away, *especially* at live performances. I bought the CD that night and it was a staple in my musical diet for many months. They're a dark sounding pop/punk band... I would agree to the "dash of emo" statement. But I wouldn't say they sound like the get up kids, but I wouldn't say they're completely different either. Give it a try, you won't be sorry. This is a complete album as well, yes there are singles, but it's best when listened to front to back.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great debut album, October 4, 2001

Ever since I saw this band live (which was the first I heard them) they've been one of my favorites. This is a really talented group of cats from Minneapolis who have a made a punk/indie rock debut album of which most bands would (or should) be jealous. The album kicks right in with the highly energetic "At Wit's End." The rock doesn't stop for the rest of the album. While some songs aren't too incredible, they certainly aren't weak either. And the great songs (read: "At Wit's End," "A Touch of Nostalgia," "Did You Get All That," and "Just Pull the Trigger") more than make up for any possible weak points. If this album is any indication as to what we'll be seeing from this band, we are all in for a real awakening.

I bought this album at the release show in July 2000. I still listen to it a ton and would definitely recommend it. I'd describe Cadillac Blindside as sort of punkish rock with a pinch of emo. A super record, this!

5.0 out of 5 stars YEAH!, July 17, 2006
This review is from: Read the Book Seen the Movie (Audio CD)
I SAW THESE GUYS IN THE BASEMENT OF MY FRIEND'S PLACE IN ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA. TALK ABOUT AWESOME! EVEN IN THE DINGY SETTING WE WERE IN, THEY STILL ROCKED. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME AND IT WAS A GOOD TIME. I WAS VERY, VERY IMPRESSED. I COULDN'T PREVENT MYSELF FROM GETTING INTO THEIR MUSIC AND FEELING THE EMOTIONS COMING FROM THEIR SOUND.
ANYONE WHO LIKES ROCK, GOTH-ROCK, PUNK, EMO OR ALTERNATIVE OR EVEN TECHNO (LIKE MYSELF) SHOULD CHECK THEM OUT. THEY'RE WORTH IT.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cadillac Blindside. Who are they?, August 28, 2000

I recently saw Cadillac Blindside open for UFB and the impossibles in August. They Rock n' Rolled.Once i heard their opening song: at wits end, I bought their CD right then and there. they sound very similar to The Get Up Kids, if you know what i'm sayin. And James Russel,guitar/vocal, looks exactly like Flea from RHCP. Thats always a plus. Check them out.
