I've already written reveiws for some of the other titles in the Read & Lilsten Books series and this one is no dissappointment. This one is the current favorite of my 6 year old daughter while my son is STILL enjoying Robin Hood over the other titles we've purchased (Heidi and Pinnocchio, which also get a lot of play time). This series includes an illustrated book (which is mostly ditched for toys to play with while they are listening ) and has some wonderful narrators that really make the classic stories come to life. These are abridged "versions" of the actual texts, but they keep the spririt and the plots in tact while paring it down to an approx. 1 hour of listening bliss. You'll be suprised if you have busy bees, to see- even a 3 year old- suddenly become frozen on the floor or his bed as the tales begin. If you like to provide your chlldren with some quiet time without wearing out your voice, and are trying to stay away from too much reliance on the TV, these may be the answer for us busy parents who deserve our own hour of down time too.

Do not order these DK Read and Listen books from used sellers. I ordered several under various ratings... new, used - very good, etc. and only 1 of the 5 different DK Read and Listen books I ordered came with the CD. Even one listed as "new" came without the CD - and the CD is even pictured online! So be warned, if you want to *listen* to the book, I would strongly recommend ordering it new!

The books are fabulous, we own four different ones, (including Peter Pan) and our kids love listening to them.
