Excellent Product That Works,
By
This review is from: Eye Q Read and Process Faster in Just 7 Minutes! (CD-ROM)
This is one of my favorite software programs of all time, and I can't believe its reviews are so low!
I used the program back in college, and went from 200-250 words per minute (WPM) to averaging 800+ WPM (occasionally testing over 1000). The program is easy, and gives very short instructions before you begin the lesson. Hint: you don't have to focus on complete comprehension from day 1. You build towards comprehension. In the beginning, if you can actually read it, great; but if not, just try to recognize as many words as you can. It will come with time. When studying for class, I always had to "slow down" to increase comprehension, but that was from 900WPM to 500-600 WPM; still more than double where I would have been without eyeQ. I can't count how much study time the techniques saved me. When you change the WAY you read, 500-600 is just as easy to understand as 250 used to be. No loss in comprehension. I put the CD away when I moved, but found the disk while cleaning and started using it again. In just 4 days, I'm already back over 600 WPM. 800+ here I come! (again) It really does work. Hint #2: I liked going back and doing the same lesson multiple days in a row (you can only do 1 lesson a day), until I felt comfortable with the speed it was going. You don't have to do them all in order. Start where you are, and build as fast as you want. Plus check out the negative reviews: 1 shipping issue and 1 guy complaining that -although he admits the product is good- his gripe is that you have to actually have the CD in your computer (like that never happens with software; I've never had an issue with the software on my laptop). Only 1 legitimately bad experience with the program.

It works but not as good as I'd liked it to,

Honestly I should of gave this a 4. It worked but not as good as they said. I picked up about 150 words a minute and wanted to go higher but after you get to level 3 it started hurting my eyes. Everything was moving so fast that is was hard to see how it could possibly help.
It came with CD, a book and some pamphlets. The CD is all you need, the pamphlets are useless and the book has large font that is meant for a beginner. Its a pretty simple system, I gave it a five because if got me back into reading which was a plus. It did show improvement on my speed, it took me to a 400 from a 250wpm. So others might have more luck with it than me, especially kids. It seems like something some people would not get and others would have excellent results. It is worth the risk, even though I personally only went up 150 it is a big difference in my reading. The CD contains information of reading exercises, eye training and testing, a detailed log of your improvement. The main part is a 12 course training section. Your start with a test, WPM, then warm up exercises, then training, then cool down, then a test. You are only allowed one test per day and the recommend you take them every other day. I bought this when it came out for $300 on an informercial in 03 or 04. I did it then with success the re did three months ago with sucess.

What a waste!,

This review is from: Eye Q Read and Process Faster in Just 7 Minutes! (CD-ROM)
I have gone through the entire program twice now. I do the "training" activities faithfully, including the two point training, and I do the reading practices everyday. According to the software, I'm reading slightly slower than I was when I first started it. The only improvement I've seen is that I do not experience the muscle fatigue in my eyes that I did when I first started; however, I never experienced eye muscle fatigue until I started working with this program, so I'm not counting that as a gain.
Don't waste your money.
