This review is from: Reader Rabbit Personalized Math 6-9 Deluxe (CD-ROM)
Note: although the manufacturer's website claims this cd-rom will work with Windows Vista, it will not.
My 6-year old son loves math and loved a math computer game he had at school. He reads the "Reader Rabbit" books, so I thought I would give this a try as a math computer game for the summer, but it was a total waste of money. We loaded it onto the computer and every time you want to use it, there is this long, silly cartoon at the beginning (about 5 minutes long), and then there are other cartoons once you select a game. I wanted him to be able to use this as a fun math learning tool, not a cartoon showcase. And who wants to have to sit through the cartoon nonsense time and time again? Plus, once you finally get to a game, the game was really simple and involved burping monkeys. Charming. Like 6 year old boys don't develop enough behavior of that sort on their own; they don't need training from what is supposed to be an educational game. If you are looking for some challenging math games (or other subjects) for your child, try the free website for "Knowledge Adventure." There are numerous games for every age level and on different subjects. I wish I had known about it before I wasted the money on this product.

Good learning math game,

My 7 year old daughter does not like math so I got this game to make learning math more enjoyable. She said she likes the games. She likes winning points and getting pieces to rebuild the boat. I'm happy because she's learning to tell time, fractions, addition, subtraction etc. About the long, silly cartoon at the beginning another customer complained about - my daughter just skips it by clicking anywhere on the computer screen when she doesn't want to watch it. It takes her straight to the map where she can choose which game to play. She doesn't have to watch the whole cartoon. Absolutely worth the price I paid for it.

This is a great learning tool. My son enjoys playing this game, and is leaning math at the same time. What's better than that?
