I love this book. It's all here, all the people, places, and events which make up the Bible. Virtually every page has beautiful photographs, paintings, colorful maps, timelines or charts, which accompanies the text and helps you to understand and remember it. Historical background notes and opinions by Bible scholars are also included. You could read this book just by itself and come away with a pretty good basic knowledge of the whole Bible. I like to use it to support my regular Bible reading and study. It's helped me to see "the big picture", and given me simplified explanations of difficult passages, which has been extremely helpful. The material is pretty concentrated, so I've found it's best to slow down and take your time going through it.

Extremely pleased with the condensed overview of each book of the Bible with a high quality paper and binding that makes an excellent appearance in any setting.

I concur with the positive reviews already given. A good balance of historical background, actual scriptural quotes, and supporting information along with beautiful photographs and art. Have bought several over the years (used through Amazon consignment sales), always cheap and good condition, and given copies to those who either did not know the Bible much, or had had difficulty with Bible study. Seems to have no bias as to Christian denomination (Does include the Apocrypha, with explanations) and is good for the needs of Bible study by persons of differing levels of background.

I have bought several of these books over the years for myself and others because it is an excellent supplement to the KJV Bible I use for personal Bible Study and when I study or teach with others. I find it is easy to understand due to the manner in which the introductions and narratives are presented that explain what is going on in the chapters without changing the meaning of the Bible teachings.
