This book is, complete, easy to use, and extremely helpful. It is good for people who are beginning gardeners or as a reference to a master gardener. I hope that it comes back into print.

I would like to know if the book has been revised and if so, the ISBN number available. I have been using this book for over 10 years and find it to be extremely resourceful. I would like to buy a similar book for a friend, but have not found any that compare to Reader's Digest Illustrated Guide to Gardening.

From the beginner to the experienced gardener, you won't find a better guide to gardening. Helps to identify plants, growing conditions for each plant and suggests good layout ideas. Worth taking a chance on buying a used one but I recommend the hardcover, you will be referring to it a lot.

As the previous reviewer said, this is probably the best gardening reference book ever. The drawings of diseased leaves, fruits, stems, etc. enable you to diagnose all the usual plant problems, and many more that aren't touched on in other books. (The only improvement would be to have photos instead of drawings.) There is also much information on growing specific types of plants.

THE best gardening book I have ever owned! This is to replace my original copy, too warn out. As a gardener for over 30 years, I highly recommend this book. Very good coverage of a broad range of trees, shrubs and plants. Kudos to the authors and editors.

If the books are just for me, I always get a "used" book. As usual, this sellar sends near perfect books. Such a bargain. This book is for my daughter, as I had one. It is in great shape. Prompt service too.

this book is hardy ever closed. my neighbor and i are always reading it due to we are gardeners in a small scale but it's information is top drawer compare to other yak yak books about nothing but guesses about gardening issues. get any year version of this book and you won't be disappointed. if anything it will make you try other plants to grow. it did us. we even bought the newer version of the book and both are great especially if the neighbor takes one home and you can't find it in your own home.
