This item is made of very heavy steel, the lock is silky smooth. the interior shelf and both top & bottom are both padded, so it can be installed to open with hinges to R or L. I installed with the provided lag bolts in less than 30 minutes with a stud finder, razor knife to cut out drywall, cordless drill & a 1/2" socket wrench. In addition, seller shipped within hours of ordering- ordered it 5/26 and was on my front doorstep 6/2 with a holiday weekend in the middle of this! Outstanding
