I would recommend this book for anyone from high school through graduate school. It is an excellent workbook for those who have found their reading comprehension skills needing improvement.

If you read and can't understand what you just read, but you have to read several times, this is the book for you. This book will help you to break down the paragraphs in a way to understand so you read with a purpose. It also helps you to focus better on what you are doing since you have work to do, to obtain the jewel of understanding.

This book is written for adults; however, I'm using it to teach reading comprehension strategies to my 6th graders. They need to be challenged and I like the format. Teaching reading strategies is the same no matter what age you are.

I really liked the clear format, the focused lessons, and the areas covered. I have used the lessons effectively with junior high school students as well as adults.

I am an education college major, and a literacy tutor for school age children for 2 years now. I borrowed this text from my local library because I am tutoring my first high schooler this school year--no time to "re-invent the wheel" and Dr. Suess is NOT an option! (lol) It comes with a pre & post test section, and additional online resouces/assistance--for a fee! The wookbook style is concise and effective and compact! My tutee is progressing quite nicely through the exercises.

I have been able to review things that I learned in grade school, that I have forgotten. I recommend this book to anyone wishing to take a test and use it for review.
