More About the Author
Stu Dunn is the first Facial Action Coding System (FACS) Certified consultant in New Zealand. Stu has had a natural interest in human behaviour and non-verbal communication for most of his life. Stu's continued study of psychology, body language, micro expressions and FACS has helped him become New Zealand's leading expert in micro expressions, emotional surveillance and FACS (FACS is the most detailed de-coding of the face, and universally recognized by psychologists and physiologists worldwide).
Stu is also one of the first in the world to achieve Master Level on Humintell's Mix Elite Micro Expressions software. Stu has been studying body language since 2001, and has worked with participants from New Zealand, Australia, United States, United Kingdom, India, Canada, Germany, Afghanistan, Portugal, Switzerland and Sri Lanka so far. This includes working with participants from the NZ Defence, IRD Fraud Investigators, Sri Lankan Customs, Homeland Security, Telecom NZ and Vodafone to name a few. Stu is also part of the Human Behaviour Academy.
Stu's areas of expertise include: micro expressions, emotions and emotional surveillance, body language, deception, interviewing, training, business consulting, video analysis (evaluating truthfulness & credibility), FACS coding (videos, pictures and animation), sales training, assistance with criminal and private investigations.
Outside of behavioural science, Stu practices martial arts. In 1999 he began Wing Chun Kung Fu, and has been teaching the Qian Li Dao Academy style of Wing Chun since 2005. Stu has also been trained in massage, has a Certificate in Hypnotherapy (January 2010) and has written a fantasy book (Sarophia, 2004). Stu and his wife Bridget are successful in the real estate industry, and enjoy the flexibility this allows for their family.

Much of this material is available in Stu's online study course through SDL. As a student of his and now expert in micro-expression detection myself, I can't recommend highly enough the benefits that you will forever receive. For those particularly interested in deception detection, your assumptions will turn in to knowledge very soon as you will KNOW what you are looking at and what meanings can, and can't, be inferred from various macro and micro body language and vocal cues. You will never perceive anyone quite the same way after learning the truth about body language, and most CAN be learned through simply enjoying the reading True Lies.
What I like about this book is it is well written and easy to understand. It will help me to dealing with all types of people and knowing a better way to understand a person through reactions of the person.
I would recommend this book for people who are in business or for others who need to learn how to read other people for your protection.
Lots of speculation; lots of third party information taken from other authors/researchers. Save your money on this book.
Primary emotions and gestures are explained with lots of pictures, which is much appreciated!
I loved it! I had a great time reading it!
I recommend this book to all who want to understand human behavior.

Wasn't at all what I expected. The author said something meant one thing, but it could be something else too. Sorry, not that good.Published 16 months ago by Kindle Customer
This book makes a very poor assumption - people are all the same.
