This review is from: Reading Luke: A Literary and Theological Commentary (Reading the New Testament (Smyth & Helwys)) (Paperback)
Talbert is a leading authority on Luke. He was concerned with intertextuality before it became fashionable. His comments use the literary form of the text to illuminate the text. He makes liberal use of the book of Acts as well as ancient Greek literature to interpret the third gospel. This commentary makes a great complement to a more traditional source critical commentary like Fitzmyer's.
