I just finished reading TC Nomel's book "Reading the Psalms as an Auburn fan."

I also quite enjoyed talk of the question of how faith and football are so important in the bible belt, and how they may just be more intertwined than we often think.
Art Vandelay
Mr. Nomel has captured the flavor of Southern football which has to be experienced in order to understand the intensity of the fans.
Arnold Heflin

Despite all the negative reviews written by rival University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa fans so full of hatred and envy theyre willing to troll Amazon looking for Auburn-related media so they can post a negative review, I found this book to be a very good read and a great reflection of the author's faith and of the Auburn family in general. Any Auburn fan would love this book. I would also suggest buying a copy for the Alabama fan in your life. Judging by the comments and reviews written on this page, they really need to read what's inside this book. Highly recommended!

I was intrigued by the title of this book. As an Auburn football fan, I am happy to read anything that takes me back through the awesome 2010 football season! The idea of this author to view Auburn football through the lens of Psalms was very unique, and it was even better than I had hoped. There is some pretty in depth analysis of how the Auburn-Alabama rivalry plays in the life of this great state, and while bama fans may not like what it says, all the points made in this book are backed up by logical reasoning and even scriptural relevance. Auburn fans will love the walk through of the 28-27 Iron Bowl victory, and the constant reminders throughout this book of just how great it is to be an Auburn Tiger.
There are several chapters with some very in-depth biblical commentary, going verse by verse through sections of the Psalms, and showing how it relates to life as an Auburn fan over the past few seasons.
I also quite enjoyed talk of the question of how faith and football are so important in the bible belt, and how they may just be more intertwined than we often think.
I definitely recommend this book to Auburn football fans and anyone interested in the Auburn-Alabama rivarly or the concept of the role faith and football play here in the South.

A truly inspiring book if you are an Auburn fan and a Christian....I picked this book up at the local book outlet and I must say,it is one of the most enjoyable pieces of literature that I have ever had in my hands....This would be a great book for anyone to sit down and draw inspiration from....Even the fans of rival schools, including updyke university could gain some wisdom and insight by contemplating the spiritual messages inside the covers,if only they could read....Great piece of work and WAR EAGLE!!!!!

I just finished reading TC Nomel's book "Reading the Psalms as an Auburn fan." I must say I enjoyed how the author used biblical scholarship, football passion, and personal stories to illuminate the points he was making in the book. It's fairly obvious that TC is passionate about his faith, family, and Auburn football and more than likely in that order. At no point in the book was he saying persons were condemned or 'evil' but that the 'rightful place' ideology was out of order and must be overcome by good. I believe TC did a good job of writing this book and I look forward to reading more by him in the future.
