More About the Author

Fred Coon is a Licensed Employment Agent and a recognized national expert on career and job search management. His clients have shorter job searches and they receive more money than their peers. Fred has a long history of successful placements. How successful? He averages nearly a 97%+ successful placement rate over the past 17 years. Fred understands the job market, and the needs of his clients. He has been on the executive teams of two companies that made Inc. Magazine's Top 500 Fastest Growing Companies lists, multiple years and multiple industries. Fred is not all business either.

Dick Bolles, Author, What Color Is Your Parachute 2011 with 10 million copies in print says: "...Good career coaches or counselors are made, not born. They are made by the constant interaction they have with their clients each week, from whom they learn the challenges and with whom they figure out the solutions, over the years. The good ones are made by what they notice, not just by what they see.

Fred Coon is among the best in noticing, and by demanding the best from his clients, he helps them achieve the best, in their job-search and their lives. I liked particularly his main thesis: The process of getting hired is one of elimination. He/She who is left standing, wins..."

Fred isn't all work and no play. For fun, he gives concerts around the country and is a recognized old-time claw-hammer banjo player who has entertained audiences around the U.S. for over 40 years.

I read this book with great interest. As long-time professional in the career services business, this book is simply a compilation of methods used by other career service firms. I don't see anything here that is original. Shame on the author.

This economy stinks, but this book helped me get interviews for jobs where there were over 1000 applicants. Great advice on marketing yourself, getting seen, and landing the job.
