Review
Ready to Heal is an essential guide for women struggling with how to be emotionally healthy and remain emotionally stable in an intimate relationship. The book gives readers a theoretical understanding of negative relationship patterns illustrated through real women s experiences. More than any single book I know, Ready to Heal gives women working through difficult times all the tools to dispel the darkness. --- Sue William Silverman, author, Love Sick: One Woman s Journey Through Sexual Addiction and Because I Remember Terror, Father, I Remember You
Kelly McDaniel clearly describes the crucial connections between childhood trauma, incest, and isolation that too often lead to addictive behavior, sexual confusion, and painful relationships. She shows how healing the wounds beneath addictions provides the true path to healing. --Charlotte Sophia Kasl, Ph.D., author of Women, Sex, and Addiction: A Search for Love and Power; Yes, You Can! Overcoming Trauma and Addiction
In a gentle and respectful manner, Kelly invites any woman to honor her authentic self rather than stay in the shame associated with behaviors that no longer work to relieve emotional pain. Not only can the reader learn ways to stop the addictive behavior, she can also discover how to rebuild a healthier life that respects the difficult journey on which many women have traveled. I highly recommend this book. --M. Deborah Corley, PhD. Founder and co-owner of Santé Center for Healing, Co-author of Disclosing Secrets and Embracing Recovery.
