5.0 out of 5 stars a great novel
I really liked this book series. I like how the book takes you from one feeling to the next. I can't wait to read more from Debbie Macomber. She is a great writer. I liked how she set up the stories.

1.0 out of 5 stars Characters are flat and undeveloped, story unrealistic
I had to force myself to finish the first part of the book. The characters did not seem at all believable and the fact that Jessica was madly in love with Damian within weeks of starting her job at the firm was totally unrealistic. And add to that, both men and women are supposedly good looking and the women seem like goody-two-shoeses.

I didn't bother...

4.0 out of 5 stars Two Very Good Romantic Stories, April 29, 2009
This review is from: Ready For Love: Ready For Romance\Ready For Marriage (Mass Market Paperback)
Ready for Love was inspired by Humphrey Bogart's movie Sabrina, and Debbie Macomber ably took the concept to a fun level.

In Ready for Romance, 14-year-old Jessica Kellerman had a mad crush on her next door neighbor, Evan Dryden to the amusement of both families. Years later, with the encouragement of Evan's dad, Jessica applies for a job as legal assistant in Evan's law practice. As everyone assumes Jessica is still in love with Evan, Jessica finds herself attracted to his older brother Damian. How she attempts to get everyone's misconceptions untangled is a real treat.

Ready for Marriage finds Evan Dryden still practicing law, confronted by the woman who broke their engagement and his heart three years before. Mary Jo Summerhill's family is in trouble and she knows that Evan is the only one that can help them out. The problem is, what will it take for Evan to take the case?

Debbie Macomber has a wonderful way with words; conversations are realistic and the pacing keeps the story on track. Although these stories are fairly short, it is easy to feel the emotional turmoil of the characters. I highly recommend this book for an afternoon or two of good clean romantic reading with characters that you will come to adore.

Both tales were exceptionally good. I loved each and every character and was unable to set it down once I started reading. Macomber has incredible talent. She gives her characters strong emotions and those emotions are passed onto the reader.

I didn't bother finishing it and just skipped to the very end.

If I had to describe this book in two words, it would be boring and unrealistic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage, December 27, 2006
This review is from: Ready For Love: Ready For Romance\Ready For Marriage (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is pretty lame. There is no character development, and both stories seem rushed to have the character get engaged/married. I only read the first story in the book and threw it in the garbage, that's how bad this book is.

Please save your money and go with another novel
