I bought this book for myself - to see if it could help provide me with language to use with my son to help him with sharing at play time . I was stunned by how much my son loves this book. In fact we have to read this and "Ready for Bed" several times most evenings. In the story, the mom helps the kids negotiate a few small conflicts and if I miss a page, my son will say "mommy - help her solve her problem!". This story captivates my son and he has learned so much about how to express his feelings. He now tells me when he felt "comforted" or even "frustrated" by something and when he wants to hold on to a toy because it's "special to him". I have learned to ask him "what do you think we can do?" in sticky situations. This book series is fabulous and I highly recommend it.

Designed for parents and kids to share, the ParentSmart/KidHappy series is a very helpful resource, offering pictured renditions of familiar social interaction scenarios, with creative positive parenting techniques and approaches suggested and encouraged to help kids work through rough patches of relating to achieve maximum harmonious playdate time. Other recommended books in this series by the same author/illustrator team are "Ready for Bed!" and "Ready for the Day!".
