Improved, but still lacks,
This review is from: Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 PS2 DISC ONLY (Video Game)
This is a party game. If you have friends that come by and play all the time, well this is the game for you. Though, I don't know that it's changed that much from Ready2Rumble1. Yeah you get some new characters and some new moves, but it's really just button mashing. Not many combos are used unless you get your special. The only good part is that you get to talk trash and layeth the smacketh down on your friends. Against the computer, it's just not that much fun. If you want to build up your boxer and play the season mode or whatever, i suggest that you wait for an EA sports simulation boxing game or something. This game just get's really repeditive after doing the same training over and over again. Oh, and who really cares if you beat up your friend with Michael Jackson or Shaquille O'Neal. As long as you beat them up and rub it in, it doesn't matter who you use. To me, this is a rental game. Remember NBA Jam? Well, this is like the Boxing version of NBA jam. No matter what new features it brings, it's just not fun when you play by yourself.

Not a serious boxing game, but it isnt suspossed to be!,

Whoever thinks of this game in the same manner as knockout kings is looking at it all wrong. This game is meant to be FUN and goofy. And fun it is. The crazy moves and wacky characters make it great. It is especially awesome in 2player mode. If you are looking for a realistic game, look somewhere else. But if you are looking for a game that will be loads of fun for you and your friends, then look no further. The only reason I didnt give this game a 5 is because it does get boring after a while with only 1 player, but play 2 player mode to keep the fun lasting!

A Solid Playstation 2 Sports Game,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 PS2 DISC ONLY (Video Game)
This is a solid title for the playstation 2. I think most people who buy this game will be happy with it. Its obvious that this isnt a serious boxing game. Its not meant to be. Knockout Kings from EA Sports will handle the serious boxing simulation, this game is more of a parody of boxing, with hilarious charachters, all of which are ficticious, no real fighters here. The most enjoyable part of the game, surprisingly, is probably the training. In championship mode before each fight your fighter must train for 30 days. There are several excersizes that your fighter must go through before he is allowed to step into the ring. Jumping rope, speed bag, heavy bag and lifting weights are just a few of these training excersizes. When you do step into the ring it makes for a fun game and provides alot of laughs as the fighters taunt their opponents, throw big time flurries and have the ability to knock their opponents out of the ring. I would say that a serious fight fan would be happy with this BUT thats only because KO Kings isnt out yet for the PS2. For right now though, its a good solid sports game that is alot of fun.

This is the sequel to one of my favorite Dreamcast games. There are new boxers featured and even some suprise celelbrity charecters such as Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Shaquille O'Neal. The graphics are nice and a little cartoony and the music is pretty standard. Voices in the game include Michale Buffer's "Let's Get Ready To Rumble" line and more standard voices ofr each charecter. The Arcade Mode is a fun knockout fest complete with ridiculous charecters and extremely realistic bungie cable physics. There's also tournament mode with training sessions which are little button tapping mini games that get kind of annoying but it's stil fun to build up your charecter and ot fight in scheduled matches. Multiplayer is great, only 2 people but its still quite a bit of fun. The game is a nice attempt for a sequel but it gets old really quick.

Nothing new, nothing fun,

I really see no reason to buy this game, you can beat it within 45 minutes if you can even stand playing it that long. Its only remotely fun when you play in 2 player mode. The characters add some spark but not enough to save this horrrible game. If you lik boxing, you might like it, but thats abouy it. Youll get bored with this game very fast so i highly reccomend knockout kings instead of this. There are much better ps2 games out there, so get out out and explore, just esort to this as a rent.

!!!I've got one word for this game. SWEET. its an awesome classic PS2 game, that you must have. The graphics are stunning and the options are awesome. My favorite part of the game is championship mode. you have a calendar and you fight on certain dates and then you lift weights, jump rope, and lots of other training options to build up your stats. This game is funner than it may look to you. Its also really fun on multiplayer. Theres nothing better that throwing an upper-cut to the jaw of your annoying siblings or friends. Its an awesome game, buy it.

The Best Boxing Game Ever,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 PS2 DISC ONLY (Video Game)
I owned the first Ready to Rumble on the Dreamcast and loved it. I was really pleased after picking up the PS2 version and I have played it more in the last few weeks then I did the Dreamcast version in one year. The new characters like Shaq, Bill & Hillary Clinton and others really make this a fun title. Don't worry if your not a big "boxing" fan, this title is more about run then anything else.

Wooooh we boi this is a very boss game, a classic if you will. A great title to start off with just to give a taste of the 90's, original characters with their own creative style and flair. Plus you cannot forget about the king of pop MJ, Shaquille O'neal, the presidet and first lady. If your reallly picky about rules, regulations, gloves glowing, taunting ect. this ain't fo u ieght. Its for foolin around after school or wanting to knock some heads(which can be taken in a perverted way, i don't care) anyways love this game played it on the dreamcast one of the first games i've ever played. favorite characters are Afro Thunder and Michael Jackson. oh yeah ready to rumble revolution sucks. PEEEEAACE

This game is nothing like the first edition,

This game sucks compared to the first one. I had a lot of fun playing the first one and when I first got my PS2 it was one of my first games, Ready to Rumble 2. I would not suggest for people to purchase this game or even to rent it. That is how much I dislike it. However if you are thinking of purchasing it I would strongly suggest renting to see if you actually enjoy it.
