5.0 out of 5 stars I still use what I learned from this book., December 26, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Ready, Set, Remember (Hardcover)
It was one of the best learning tools I had growing up. The pictures and stories work so well together and truly assisted in learning the capitals and presidents. It was great fun learning with this book. I wish I still had a copy

The book has taught many generations of my family the state capitols and how to remember the multiplication tables. It is fantastic. I am now using it with my 8 year old, and the sixth grade math class that I teach.

My dad bought me this book when I was about 3. By the time I went to kindergarten, I knew all the capitals, all the presidents and had learned a wealth of memory tricks that has served me for the rest of my life. Our copy got destroyed, so I guess I buy it used (for my son).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Learning Tool, July 27, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Ready, Set, Remember (Hardcover)
This book is the BEST book to use in order to learn capitals, or the order of the presidents. It teaches with pictures, so that they stay in your memory. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to learn the capitals of America's states.

This book taught me the presidents in order in only 5 minutes. Now I can teach my students and kids how to use this awesome tool too. I have looked for this book since I was in Junior high, and I finally found it 20 years later. Best book ever!

Excellent book for those who struggle with memory tasks. Easy to read. I knew the author in high school, and he did possess what seemed to me, an unlimited ability to recall all that he wished!

My daughter has struggled with memorizing states and capitals for months. After only two sessions sitting down with this book she knew 15 states and capitals! It's really helped her remember and retain the capitals for over a month now. And it's fun!

This book was used in both my kids' 3rd grade social studies class as a method of teaching them to remember states and capitols. They loved it so much they asked their teacher where to get it. When the teacher told me it was no longer in publication, I searched and found it on Amazon. We love the way it teaches memorization. It's easy and fun and two years later, they still remember the capitols!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ready Set Remember, August 30, 2008
This review is from: Ready, Set, Remember (Hardcover)
I was in first grade when my mom bought me this book and taught me my times tables and state capitols. Still today I see the images in my head when I recall a state capitol or perform simple multiplication. I am 40 now.

My grandmother bought this book for me when I was about 10 years old. I read through the pages and looked at the illustrations way back then--and I still can tell you the capital of every state--recalling the picture I learned all those years ago!! I'm buying a copy for my children so that's one less thing we'll have to stress over!
