One of my absolute favorite bands,
By Kala (Ft Lauderdale, FL United States) - See all my reviews

The Marvelous 3 is (heh, was - they went their separate ways awhile back) one of my absolute all time favorite bands. A friend of mine dragged me to their concert several years ago in Gainesville, FL. It was hands down the best concert I ever went to! I bought their CD after that and just fell in love. There are very few CDs that I can honestly say I like every track on it, this is one of the few! My favorite song is the first track, Little Head - the lyrics are hysterical! There is a good mix of fast/upbeat songs and slower ballads. Beautiful has to be one of the best love songs I've heard as well, the lyrics to that are really just heart-warming. The band is really sensational, I highly recommend. :)

Simply Marvelous,

For those of you who don't know the Marvelous 3, I don't know that I can do a better job of mesmerizing you than the band themselves could so go out and buy it! For those of you that do know them, this album completely lives up to their preious work, and goes beyond it to convey a kind of passionate music, true rock music, that you don't see a lot of today. ReadySexGo is significantly different than either Hey! or Math and Other Problems, but it's still totally Marvelous, no hint of industrial tampering to please the masses. Every song is infused with Butch Walker's magic touch and you can be assured that they didn't tell me they "sold out". It's louder and more obnoxious and for any of you that have seen their live shows, you know that this is part of what makes them so special. They're completely relentless and unforigivingly over the top. "Better Off Alone" and "Beautiful" are classic Marvie 3 that could easily have appeared on either of their previous albums. And songs like "Radio Tokyo", "I'm Losing You" and "Cigarette Lighter Love Song" truly show their growth as a band and their versatility in creating music that comes off as original and groundbreaking, while drawing on and paying tribute to the roots of rock and roll. I think the most special aspect of ReadySexGo is its believability. The band plays as though they mean every beat and Walker sings as though he means every word. And if the circumstances didn't happen to him, he makes you believe that they happened to somebody. If you don't already love them, I assure you that you will. And if you do, I assure you that you'll love them even more after purchasing this amazing album, this "rock epiphany of the new millennium", ReadySexGo.

The "CD I'd save if my house is burning down"...,

Butch Walker is and forever will be my HERO! He has such stage presence and I keep hoping for that Press Release announcing that the Marvies are back together....Until then, I wear this CD OUT! It's as good if not better than "Hey Album!" and mixes the riffs that we all know and love from the Marvies with AWESOME lyrics. I'm a "child of the 80's hair bands" and this CD rocks your socks off. Definitely on my Top 5 list of CD's to listen to for the rest of my life. I'm a MARVIE forever...what can I say....

Fun Rock n Roll - Pure And Simple,

First of all, I cut my teeth on classic rock/metal from the late 70's and through the 80's. This was recommended to me by Amazon - Thank You! This is without a doubt the best album I have purchased in years. It has great songs throughout - not just one or two good songs. The songs have great hooks and the lyrics are excellent; "Hell's not cold I know, 'cause I've been there for the last half hour or so, and the Devil says it never snows." There are too many great songs to mention; some are Cold As Hell, Grant Park, Get Over and Supernatural Blonde. As everyone says in other reviews - these guys should have been huge.

A crazy rock album for the new Century,
By Wiseguy 945 (Cedar Rapids, IA) - See all my reviews

This ablum came out in late 2000. THis album should have caught fire, but it did only fair in the rock arena. I am completely suprised that it didn't burn up the airwaves more because its hard edge with great song lyrics and flavor of a more poppy punk. I think now of how Bowling for soup has taken off, and this should have done the same. But alas, the boys broke up after this effort, and of course Butch Walker (lead singer of Marvelous 3) has helped with the last 2 bowling for soup efforts resulting in a grammy nomination. The first five song on this album just kick tail, and the rest of the songs are great as well, but you get worn out by the first songs. Its an album that you could leave in the CD player for days (to lazy to change discs) and not care because it still rocks every time. So if you are a rock fan, and especially if you like Bowling for soup, then this album is for you. Crank it, good party tunes.

Love the lyrics, campy and fun and a bit cliche with quite a bit of raunch thrown in seemingly just to make it harder to get radio play. The "Credits" bonus track is fun once, but kinda lame after that. Too bad they broke up.

A friend of mine told me that some of the old South Gang guys had a band called The Marvelous 3, so I figured I would check into it. I listened to a few clips from this album and it blew me away! I bought it immediately. That was at least a month ago - the CD is still in my player and is still gaining favor in my eyes. This CD rocks! It's a shame these guys aren't around anymore.

Sugarbuzzzz.....,

This is the kinda rock that todays music needs. With all the whiny wimps crying about how their lifes suck or the anger fueled semi-rap geeks belching profanity laced diatribes , we seem to forget what what real rock is F U N and man this CD is Fun. Awesome sing along choruses , Guitars and more guitars and witty laugh out loud lyrics ,Butch knows how to twist bend and curve a phrase. Ready Sex Go just flows from song to song, you can't help but sing 'Anymore' over and over during 'Grant Park' , Better Off Alone is a funky rocker, I love the chorus of Sugarbuzz, Radio Tokyo and Supernatural Blonde are great sing along songs. Man alive this Cd is FUN .This is rock like we need. This is music that will have your head spinnng , yer butt shaking and your smile grinning. Ain't that FUN you can bet your Staind Korn Biscuit ina Puddle of Mudd sweet butt it is.

Three of three!,

Ok don't ask me what the title means but I just put it because Ready Sex Go is the third and final release by the formerly known band Marvelous 3. They are the best band in the world. They are a fun rock band that can't really be put into any genre of music because of Butch Walker's bizarre use of the English language. In other words this CD is totally worth it.

The Marvelous 3 may be no more, but this is still a staple of my CD collection. If you're a descendent of the big hair metal days of the 80s, this is for you. No pomp & circumstance, no deep-seeded hidden meanings. Just straight-up, "crank it up & pi$$ off the neighbors" rock n' roll.
