Ready-to-Use Egyptian Motifs (Clip Art (Dover))

Nice artwork in the form of black-and-white line-art but limited usefulness and these pictures are not provided on CD-ROM. Would have at least given 4 stars if a CD-ROM with the pictures in various graphics file format is provided.

As a long-time Egyptian fan I like this book. It needs to be mentioned however, that this book is an older issue of the Dover publication "Egyptian Designs" that comes with a CD ROM as part of their Electronic Clip Art series. What Dover has done is clever and inventive in re-issuing these older documents as "new" while including CD ROMs and re-naming the book, but it is only mentioned inside the cover of "Egyptian Designs" that it came from the earlier "Egyptian Motifs". I accidentally bought "Motifs" online not knowing that its image contents were exactly the same as "Designs", which I previously owned. Other publications by Dover in their Electronic Clip Art series is very likely to have been treated the same way. Both books are good quality books and fun, I wish they had more images inside, but be aware if you do not wish to have near-duplicate copies.

Note that the comparison above to "Egyptian Designs" here is NOT the "Egyptian Designs" by Carol Belanger Grafton (also a Dover publication). Her designs are unique and different from either of the books mentioned in this review.

NOTE: This is the same exact book as the one that comes with a CD, titled EGYPTIAN DESIGNS CD-ROM & BOOK.

These are excellent! The only problem is that I bought a duplicate item under a different name. I ordered this one and I ordered Egytpian Designs CD-ROM & Book at the same time. If I had known they were the same, I would not have purchased both I would have only purchased the one with the CD ROM. Since I like them so much though, I will keep both. I'll just cut from the copy that does not have the CD ROM.
