This review is from: Ready, Willing, and Able: Teaching English to Gifted, Talented, and Exceptionally Conscientious Adolescents (Paperback)
Dr. Bloland is undoubtedly a true master teacher.
Dr. Bloland's book, like her well-crafted teaching lessons, guide the reader through a scaffolded process of understanding who gifted students are, why we need to pay attention to their special learning needs, and how we can most effectively teach them. Through careful and detailed research, real-life teaching examples, illustrative stories, reproducible classroom materials, and years of experience, Dr. Bloland shows us all how we can begin the process of becoming master teachers ourselves. This is not a teaching process book, but rather a means of learning who our students are and what we can do for them as learning facilitators. I highly recommend this book for any teacher, administrator, or parent interested not only in gifted education, but in truly understanding what it means to educate a child. |
