5 of 5 people found the following review helpful By C. Kendall VINE VOICE on June 18, 2010
Format: Paperback
I am certainly no stranger to depression. After a long, agonizing battle with leukemia, my mom passed away in 1997. I was only twenty-two years old and I had no idea how to deal with losing my mom and best friend in the world, and to make matters worse, I had no idea who Jesus was. After seven years of suffering alone, I finally found my Savior and my new best friend. I still occasionally have bouts of depression, but nothing like before. Still, when depression does creep in, I pray for help.

When I first heard about this book I was very interested. There are a lot of books out there about depression, but not many Christian books. Ms. Wells has written a wonderfully helpful, informative, and inspiring book about beating depression. This book is not a clinical book about depression; it is a biblical book that helps the reader turn to the only One who can really help us beat our depression. There is biblical wisdom, tons of questions to help us think through things and Ms Wells' friendly writing style.

If you have depression as I have had, do yourself a favor a pick up a copy of Ready to Win Over Depression. I am certain it will help you tremendously and next time depression creeps in on me I am going to grab my copy. Ms. Wells is a blessing to those who battle depression.

The book is very readable and well designed. I appreciated the fact that scripture references were included in the text.(A depressed person might not go to the trouble to look them up in a separate volume. A lot of interactive study is included.
