I have read many books recently about the US government which have horrified and depressed me. Horrified because I knew that they were factual and heavilly documented. Depressed me because they offered nothing positive as alternative suggestions. Mr. Gingrich, while he points out negative facts does not leave the reader high, dry and hopeless. He has a positive plan that gives hope to the average citizen, like me.

This book gives a completely positive take on what we need to do as a country, without getting deluded by a myriad of "druthers". And we better get on the stick and start listening to Mr. Gingrich, probably the finest architect of what Republicans should be about.

This is one of the best books written that documents, counters, and lays out a clear path to true, innovative and intelligent democracy in clear contrast to the Obama business-as-usual liberal democrat Washington partisan cronies. Clearly "Democrat" has nothing to do with "democracy". Jefferson would vomit in his grave if he saw what his Democrat-Republican party had become. We gave the Dems one more chance after 16 years of innovative, intelligent conservative management and they have failed within only 6 months of office and have caused half a century of damage in that time in an attempted power grab with OUR money, (3 billion to ACORN, et. al.)...well I guess we misjudged their self-indulgence, their self-interest, and their selfish, egocentric form of national management. Dems do not serve their constiuencies, they clearly serve themselves. Out with the liberal Dems, (once again). We the people will overcome as our founders intended. Modern Dems are truly septic monsters, (Barney Frank, Obama, Nancy Pelosi, etc. etc. etc).

When is America going to wake up and see that we have an absolute genius in our midst in the man Newt Gingrich? No person today has the vision, clarity, soberness, optimism, and mind to articulate the issues and cut through all the misinformation like Newt Gingrich.

The absolute irony here is that since he has been demonized by the Left, he is considered a right-wind radical. The ones who would never vote for him (if he ever ran) - poor, minorities - have the most to gain from him. He is their biggest defender and supporter. His call to do away with unionized, failed bureaucracies is what America needs, particularly the poor and the down trodden. These failed instiutions whom he fights against are the very institutions keeping the poor inprisoned.

I challenge everyone to read this book, to take the call of action from Newt to reform and transform our America into one that is successful, into one that does not tolerate mediocrity and failure. Whom do we serve, what do we value, and how do we measure achievement? - are the questions that every persons needs to be analyzing for their own answers.

Newt is reasonable and fair. He doesn't discriminate between political parties - if they support broken bureaucracies and government policies, then he calls you out. I challenge anyone to argue the principles laid out in this book. They cannot be challenged because the principles talked about here are true.

Wake up everyone and read this book!! Buy them as gifts and give them as Christmas presents. For if we reform and take up this challenge the real gift will be given to us and more particularly to our children and their children.

This book is worthy of more than 5 stars. Do yourself a favor and read it.

While Newt does a great job of presenting the problems facing Americans and their government, his is the one book that I have read so far, that gives chapter after chapter of practical solution to fix those problems. He has a very positive attitude. Instead of seeing the barrel half empty, he sees it half full, and with his can do attitude believes that with the right solutions, hard work and perseverance it takes to bring about change, we can fill the barrel. His Ideas on real change in areas such as the social security system, income tax reform, a balanced budget and so much more, come from a man who has served for many years in the house or representatives and knows what he is talking about. He is not a neo-conservative, which is a republican who espouses the same ideas as the liberals. Instead he a well read man, who is willing to do the research necessary to garner the facts, with much experience in getting workable solutions through congress and making real change happen in American government.

Reinforces my respect for Newt's high intellect and his grasp of this nations problems. He also offers thoughtful common sense solutions for restoring sensibility to our country. Many shocking examples of government waste and fraud. This book is also an easy read.

Must read for every American!! We must stop believing that government is the anwser to our problems. We must hold our elected officials responsible for wasting our money. We must get involved with government and stop listening to third parties (can you say news media) about what is happening with our government. Please buy and read -- at least once.

This is an excellent overview of where we came from to be at this point in our history, and how we can improve our current position for the future.

This was an extremely enlightening book. I had no idea about some of the "backroom" tactics that go on in Washington. Recommended reading for those who care about the direction our country is going.

This is an excellent book by Newt Gingrich! He touched on everything that is wrong with our country today and what it takes to solve the problems we have. Every member of congress should read it and act accordingly before its to late.
