5.0 out of 5 stars I am a Chiropractor and I recommend to every patient.
I have practiced chiropractic for 28 years and truly wished I had invented the Real Ease. I personally use the device and I have recommended it for practically all of my patients for the last 5 years. At first it may not feel "good" for the first few sessions, but that doesn't concern me. There are times that braces on teeth don't feel "good" either. The device is...

3.0 out of 5 stars The jury's still out
I had read the contradictory reviews before I bought this, so I knew that it was a gamble. I have to say, I'm not really sure how well it works. Yes, it's flimsy and can be unstable, though if you shift around a bit you can get balanced on it. No, it is not adjustable, as one reviewer claimed (unless by adjustable they mean you can move the whole thing around). It's...

The device is designed to help properly restore the normal curve in the neck. I wouldn't recommend using it for anymore than 10 -15 minutes a day. Even though illustrations on the box show it being used while sitting upright, like in an airline seat, as well as while reclining in bed, I feel the device is useful only while reclining on a firm surface (like the floor). I tell my patients to lay on the floor with their calves up in a chair and relax. It is a great way to spend time in prayer, or meditation or to just catch up on some sleep. But, be sure to set a timer for 10 to 15 minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars It really works!, August 16, 2005

I finally figured out that my real problem in my neck and shoulders was TMJ! I am a grinder and this has been putting stress on my neck and shoulders. I had bought a shiatsu massager only to realize it wasn't solving the real problem. So I returned it and luckily found this on the web.

This simple little device really works. You feel relief in just minutes and after 10-15 minutes you can feel your neck and shoulder relaxing. I also find that my jaw relaxes as well. I use it every night before bed to loosen up my muscles. Well worth the price, and at this price, a steal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Chronic neck pain relief, February 22, 2005

A wonderful product. I suffer from a neck condition which puts much stress on my shoulder muscles creating an almost constant ache. This inexpensive device has helped so much after just 3 days of use for 20 minutes /3 times a day.

I have a degenerated cervical disk that is touchng a nerve. It causes tightening in the muscles around my shoulder blade and tingling in my left hand. I take neurontin and get massage and chiro adjustments. Still,I have neck pain 24 hours a day.

I got this device yesterday and used it to sleep...pain-free. I woke up in the morning and my neck muscles were relaxed. So far this is the only device I have found for lying down to relieve the pain.

It's not uncomfortable, and now that I've gotten used to it, I think that it may help stretch the neck muscles some. But an incredibly comfortable miracle cure? No, I'm afraid not. I'm still using it every couple of days for 15-20 minutes each day, and as I say it MAY be helping. Not impressive, but not necessarily a complete waste of money, either.

5.0 out of 5 stars TAKE IT WITH YOU...., May 1, 2008
By
I got one of these for my wife when took a hard dive onto the living room floor while cleaning some curtains.... She was in much pain and this little device was the best thing we found for alleviating it.

Over the years we BOTH have come to depend on it and it always faithfully gets rid of pent-up stress, especially in the neck, jaw, and back. Indeed, we don't travel without it now.

One word of advice; be sure to be patient with this device; it needs time to work - 10 minutes at a minimum IMO. And if you are wondering about quality consider this - yes, the materials are worth a LOT less than the finished product but balancing that is the fact that there is definitely enough quality there to get the job done. If the manufacturer would tweak it by making the base a little wider - say by 1 to 1.5 inches - and providing a pair of washable covers - this product would be a grand slam!

1.0 out of 5 stars Is this a joke?, December 12, 2010

This review is from: Real-Ease Neck and Shoulder Relaxer (Health and Beauty)
I detest when snake oil salesmen prey on people who are in pain and desperately seeking help and remedies. That's what this piece of junk is about. From the photos, it looks as if there's some amazing stretching going on, but in truth, the whole thing is made wrong for that. The arch isn't even padded where it should be to coax my "military" neck into a healthy curve. I have neck injuries resulting in marathon migraines. I sometimes grasp at straws. I'm going to return this, even though I'll have to pay postage simply because I don't want it in my house, and I don't want this company to profit from me. It doesn't support as much as a rolled up pillow under the back of the neck, and it's unsteady.

I love ordering from Amazon.com, and I buy a lot from them, but the reviews are misleading because only the positive ones are deemed as "helpful". I guess we all want to be encouraged when we're shopping. I'm sorry I can't be encouraging about this one. The best things I've done for my neck and back have come from Amazon.com, and they include the Arc4life Cervical Linear Traction Neck Pillow, an inversion table, and the Spine-Worx Back Realignment Device.

4.0 out of 5 stars very relaxing, February 7, 2007
I carry a lot of tension in my neck and upper back, and as a result get a lot of headaches. I have been using the Real-Ease for about two months, and have found it very effective at releasing the tension in my neck and upper back and alleviating my headaches. I have not used it as a preventative - only when I already have a headache. If something happened to the one I have, I would definitely buy another.

I have been experiencing a great deal of neck/shoulder pain associated with a car accident that occurred over 30 years ago and this device neutralizes the pain in a matter of minutes. It's brilliant!

4.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable but does it really "do" anything?, February 11, 2006

Ahh! (Darting about) - See all my reviews

My neck does feel good when my head is cradled in this thing. But, can't be sure if it's just comfy like a good pillow or if it actually is helping to relax my muscles, which are always dreadfully tight. Also, this thing is just plastic and foam - looks as though it cost about $0.67 to make. So, the price is pretty hefty for what it is...
