5.0 out of 5 stars An Awesome Book about Faith and Healing, February 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Real Faith for Healing (Paperback)
Dr. Price helped me get back to the basic principle of divine healing -- focusing on the healer (Jesus) rather than the healing. His view that faith cannot be generated by humans, rather it is given by God, revolutionized my thinking. This idea takes away much of the worry and stress about stepping out on one's own human effort; rather we are only successful when we act under a complete dependance on Jesus, the healer. If you are hitting a wall when seeking for healing, this book is a must read.

This review is from: The Real Faith for Healing (Paperback)
A clear illustration of the reality of Jesus Christ paying for the christians' healing, deliverance and salvation at Calvary's cross. This book is great for explaining the doctrine of divine healing in perfect accordance with the written Word of the living God. A must read for the layman as well as the preacher.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breath of fresh air for those who are confused about faith!, February 22, 2008

This review is from: The Real Faith for Healing (Paperback)
Charles Price after 20 years of ministry in the early 1900s answers the question of why some people get healed and some do not. It is a real eye opener when he reveals that "real faith" comes from God alone and that we cannot manufacture it by believing hard enough or doing things to prove that we have it. He says that we need to trust God to give us the faith we need not only for healing, but also for salvation. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8,9 (KJV) and that we need to pursue Jesus because the Bible says "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;" Hebrews 12:2 (KJV) He gives many wonderful stories to show us how this principle worked in his ministry and how we can apply it to our own situation. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has been perplexed by this nagging question.

5.0 out of 5 stars A quality insight, January 5, 2007

This review is from: The Real Faith for Healing (Paperback)
No one else seems to have understood the source of real faith like charles Price has. His insight is so meaningful that it has changed the way I view faith, and has strengthened the ministry I already had for healing. He discloses that the secret to great faith is to have a deep relationship with God. There is no substitute. Faith cannot be created within oursleves, but finds its source in God, who gives it as a gift to those who seek him.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Wisdom About Healing, April 9, 2005
By
Peter Kenney (Birmingham, Alabama, USA) - See all my reviews

This review is from: The Real Faith for Healing (Paperback)
THE REAL FAITH FOR HEALING consists of a collection of writings and sermons originally written by Charles S. Price. The book's editor is Harold J. Chadwick who rewrote the material in a modern style for contemporary readers.

Like all good teachers, Price stresses only a few truths but continually returns to these axioms throughout the text. In many ways his approach to healing is similar to that professed by Kenneth Hagin, Jim Glennon, Dodie Osteen, Charles Capps, Ralph Brittain and Norvel Hayes. Price's main point is that your healing does not depend on a faith developed by you but relies instead on your relationship with Jesus. In fact, your own efforts to manufacture faith will likely get in the way. When you realize that you are actually quite helpless, you will then be able to receive the real faith for healing that only Jesus can give you.

THE REAL FAITH FOR HEALING will give the reader some solid wisdom about healing and is best read in conjunction with the works of Hagin, Glennon, Osteen, Capps, Brittain and Hayes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why don't some people get healed?, November 9, 2006
By
This review is from: The Real Faith for Healing (Paperback)
This is a classic and Charles Price supplies the answer as to why some people do not get healed by Christ. If you've struggled with this question, this is the book for you. Price was used mightily by God in the healing ministry and reading this book will strengthen your faith rather than weaken it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Much needed renewal theology in the 1940s, May 15, 2005
This review is from: The Real Faith (Paperback)
This book by Charles Price is a classic for anyone to understand what faith is. By naming the book "real" faith, Price is implying that there is "false" faith. Price showed the difference between belief and faith, that we can believe but have no faith. Even demons believe in God, but have no faith in Him. Price states that belief is of the mind, but faith is of the heart.

In this book, Price makes a very important exposition of Scripture in Mark 11:22-24, where our modern translations say "Have faith in God" but literally it means "Have you faith in God?" or "Have the faith of God." This would help make sense that having God's faith would be the only faith that could move mountains.

However, I felt that Price was trying to reconcile different experience of faith to a determination of only one kind of faith, and through it, his calvinist perspective comes across. I believe Price is spot on in many areas, and so the book may be better entitled as "The real faith for healing" (where there is a new book out in this title) as it would be more relevant than looking at faith for salvation in the same breath as faith for the miraculous.

Nevertheless, for a book published in 1940, it was way ahead of its time. Many Pentecostal preachers in the early days were not educated, but Price was one of few who were, and could help explain that faith for the miraculous, and help balance the ultra-faith or word of faith preachers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Key to Real Faith, April 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Real Faith for Healing (Paperback)
This book by Charles S. Price ought to be on the shelf of every home study library. On almost every page there are nuggets of golden Truth. Christians often pay "lip service" by saying that it is God the Holy Spirit who does the work. And then go right ahead and struggle to do in their own power that which only the Holy Spirit can do! The author discovered the answer is to REST in God, MOVE in His GRACE and to ask for the IMPARTATION of FAITH from the HOLY SPIRIT! Watch God MOVE when we TRUST Him to KEEP and DO His WORD. Dr. Price knew that he was a partaker of the Divine nature, and that without Christ, he himself could not do the works. Read, enjoy, GROW in the Grace of Jesus and in Knowing God. (2 Cor.13:14)

This is the most profound and moving book on what real faith is that I have ever
read. If you have ever struggled with your faith and been disappointed and discouraged because your prayer for healing was not answered, then this is the book you "Must" read. The words in this book came straight from Dr.Price's heart.
So many christians have moved faith to the metaphysical realm only to see their prayers unanswered. Whatever you spend buying this book, it is money well spent!
