My urologist recommended I use a supplement with Saw Palmetto. He gave me a list of herbs & minerals so I could make sure they were in the supplement I bought. I really didn't think I had any prostate issues, but I went to Walmart and bought a supplement there. After taking it for 6 months, I realized it had helped a little. Then I went to my doctor's again and he had bottles of Real Health Lab's Prostate Formula. His nurse said he buys it in bulk for him and his clients and he thinks it's a good product. So I bought a bottle. He recommended 2 tablets in the morning versus the 3 a day listed on the instructions. Five months later, I am ordering more at Amazon (great price), because it really works! I have much better urinary flow and no longer have other symptoms I didn't realize I had until they were gone. I recommend this product to every man over the age of 40.

Have been taking this at my Urologist's suggestion for several years, and now do not take the prescription med he'd given me. Tried several brands, but this combination of ingredients is the best of all. Thanks Real Health Labs.

Taking two tablets a day of the Prostate Formula have cut down the times I get up to urinate during the night to two times and sometimes only once.
Many years ago my doctor prescribed Proscar and told me I would have to use it for three months. It was absolutely useless. Years later a test of Proscar showed that in half the men who used it there was no benefit whatsoever. Now the makers of Proscar have "run tests that show Proscar may be effective against prostate cancer". I wouldn't bet on it.

I have had signigicant problems since I had to go to the emergency room in 2005. I have been using generic prescription drugs that are covered by health insurance (under my policy, there is a $5 per month co-pay for each generic prescription). They helped, but I recently found myself still getting up in the middle of the night. I solved the nighttime problem by supplementing the prescriptions with this over-the-counter product. It is saw palmetto berry powder in a formulation that also includes stinging nettle leaf powder, pumpkin seed powder, pygeum bark powder, and some other dietary supplements. The main problem with over-the-counter products is that they are not well controlled/regulated. I have found this product to be good, compared to another product that was not so good. I take it twice a day. I would note that saw palmetto also counteracts male pattern baldness, that bald spot that men develop on the back of their heads, and my hair has grown back in where it was starting to get thin. Men can take the product at any age, so you need to judge for yourself depending on the condition of your prostate and the condition of your hair.

Prostatitis is a `problem' that all men will get at some point in their life. I got it earlier than I expected and found it a very humbling and embarrassing situation.
I am 42 years old and I now suspect that I have been having a hidden chronic prostate problem that just very slowly got worse for many years which recently began to peak and become clearly known and un-ignorable. I ended up going to the doctor and begun a two week dose of antibiotics, which helped and gave temporary improvements for about a week, than I was back to my `problems'. My doctor suspected that I have had a long standing deep prostate `infection'. My doctor then put me on four weeks of antibiotics. After that the urination was back to what I thought was `normal' for me. I then decided out of fear to start doing my own research on natural herbs to prevent future prostate problems. (I assume that is why you are reading this review, just like I did of many reviews before me) I hate prescriptions drugs... you never know what chemicals you are putting into your body. I found that the `Saw Palmetto' was used for many-many years to naturally promote healthy Prostate function. My expectations were only to prevent myself from having any future prostate problems. I ordered it from Amazon, which came quickly (two days with Amazon prime) and discretely packaged in a brown plain box. I was surprised to find some interesting and unexpected results after using this product after six weeks. ALL the 'plumbing' starting working as if I was 20 again! Doing the tango with the wife is like being a teenager again. My wife even commented on my performance, which was an unexpected results. I was so surprised too, so much so that I decided to write this review to possibly help others men in choosing a product like this. I forgot what it was like to have real 'great' working plumbing. I don't know if this product is the reason... but, I can say, I don't know what else it could have been. I do not drink or smoke, or do drugs, and I have been off the antibiotics for other ten weeks now, so I doubt that was it and FYI I do not take any other medicines. This product gave unexpected but better than expected results, which were GREAT results for me. If this review helps, please let me know and other readers know. It was difficult and humbling to write as you might guess but I realize more men have to give their results publically whether good or bad. It helps other men choose just the `right' products. Having BPH for years i have been on Saw Palmetto as far back as i can remember. Lately the sudden urgeses and night time trips to the bathroom really started to get to me. Having to void then stopping only to have to go again and sometimes again had me frustrated. I have a Urologist that is a bit of a scare monger and when I tell him about my symptoms he asked me "Well what do you think we should do? We could do surgery and see if that helps." To say I was a little freaked would be an understatement. I started to use The Prostate Formula but didn't expect too much as i have tried so many products in the passed. Well after a week something changed. The sudden urgeses lessened the voiding 2 and sometimes 3 times disappeared. I am blown away by how much this hes helped. Oh and the night time trips i take two aspirin for all the aches and pains of old age and sleep through the night. I would have been happy with a little improvement but this was great. This is my second bottle of "Real Health Labs"-"The Prostate Formula". I have had discomfort from urine retention and a slow weak stream for many years in the past. Upon using the first bottle and only taking one at bedtime, I have began only getting up once during the night as opposed to the past when I might get up to urinate up to three times. I am 47 and this makes it easy and satisfying to urinate. I strongly recommend you try this product even if you only suspect you are beginning to have a problem. You may find that you forgot how easy and how good it feels to get rid of urine. I tried 3 weeks without and sure enough my urine retention, slow start of stream, weak stream and sleep interruptions returned. Upon starting the second bottle and still taking only one at bedtime, my symptoms subsided within a week. I cannot say enough about the relief I have found from this product. Try it and see if it solves your concerns. I most highly recommend this product if you suspect you may have an enlarged prostate.

Being 54 years old, its inevitable that you start to notice a decrease in the "Stream" and possibly that your doctor says your prostate is "slightly" enlarged. The suggestion of my doctor was flomax, but I had some significant side effects in the first few days (lightheaded, dizzy, insomnia, headaches) which all started the day I began taking flomax.

This herbal formula has mixed scientific evidence for it's effectiveness (my doctor said he did not think it would work), but I have been using it for several months (only 1 pill a day, even though the recommended dose is several per day). I have noticed improvement, including increased urinary stream, improved prostate operation, and as a bonus, it seems to increase sexual libido including the related "functions". Anyway, before you go on some chemical, why not try this for a few months first? However, I noticed the increase in libido within a week... so wives/girlfriends reading this, you know what to buy! My wife concurs.

I first thought of just adding a comment to one of the reviews already posted, but I think I have something important to add.

I am 42 years old. I started having urinary infections and diminished flow at 38. Antibiotics helped temporarily, but the last 3 treatments only helped for a few weeks, so I started looking for alternatives.

I started taking The Prostate Formula only 8 days ago and I am already noticing great improvements!

It no longer hurts to urinate, my flow is still not as strong as it once was, but at least I have stopped going as frequently. I don't have to get up at night anymore.

One thing I had gotten used to was having an irritated meatus all the time. I had blamed my underwear or soap for that, but I was wrong!
Now it's no longer red and tingly anymore. It's also small like when I was younger. This is a great unexpected bonus.

I think the vitamins in the formula are also very effective. I don't get as hungry anymore.

Also, since I no longer have to get up at night, I sleep better and more deeply. I no longer feel crabby all day because I'm no longer in pain all the time!!!!

If this is happening after only 8 days of taking it I can imagine I will get even more results in the near future.

Another thing, I have noticed I am no longer aware of my prostate all the time. After 3 years of problems I got used to that sensation an infected prostate gives me, but now it's gone for hours at a time, especially at night when it matters most to me.

Over the past two years I have tried numerous prostate supplements including Urinozinc Prostate Formula Plus With Beta-Sitosterol, Source Naturals Prosta-Response, and Nature's Bounty Saw Palmetto 450 mg just to name a few. My experience with these has been that they seem to do some good, but never enough to make a significant improvement. I know they are working somewhat because when I have stopped taking them, even for a short period, my symptoms always worsened.

In my ongoing quest to find the "best" prostate supplement, I continued researching and came across several positive reviews for Real Health Laboratories Prostate Formula with Saw Palmetto. What struck me about a few of these reviews is they said this formula had worked when others hadn't. While I am often somewhat skeptical of reviews, I am also ever hopeful, so about 3 weeks ago I ordered them. One immediate benefit was they were actually less expensive than most of the others I had tried.

After a few days, I began experiencing positive results. But I know (and my wife keeps reminding me) that I often see some initial positive results from various herbal supplements I take, only to find them short-lived, and I end up being with them disappointed over time. But now after taking 3 a day more than 3 weeks, I am very please to say these supplements are the real deal ... for me at least. I have experienced much improved "flow" when urinating, my bladder seems to empty more, I am less bloated, and I am seeing improved ease in bowel movements (another negative effect of an enlarged prostate that I don't read too much about, but which is definitely an issue for me).

While I recommend trying these if you have not had good results with other similar formulas, I would also have to say that I think that many of these prostate health products have similar ingredients (usually in different combinations or amounts) and that reviews like this are helpful ... but you will only know if one is right for you by trying numerous versions. And I also believe that just because a number of them you have tried may have not worked does not necessarily mean that this type of supplement won't ever work for you ... it could be that you just haven't found the right one for YOU.
