5.0 out of 5 stars Really like this, September 13, 2009
This review is from: Real (Audio CD)
I recently found Heather Eatman on a John Prine Album called Lucky 13. I absolutely loved her music so rushed out and bought everything I could find by her. I have not been disappointed. Everything I have found is excellent. I'm very surprised she is not more popular.

I saw her open for Garrison Starr and the Crash Test Dummies last Thursday. I didn't even know she was supposed to be there, let alone who she was. I was captivated. The music is excellent, especially for just mellowing out. I will be buying her other cd's and watching for her return to this town. If you want to try something new, this is it!

This is a really good disc! Kinda folky-poppy-bluesy, with her original view world-weary lyrics. If you like Steve Earle, Joan Osborne, and/or Sheryl Crow, I think you will love this disc! If you loved the sound of Joan Osborne's "Relish", then by all means, 1-click now! She has a voice at times reminiscent of Jill Sobule, maybe? Without the OCD lesbian attitude! My reviewer bias (all reviews are biased!!!) comes in because most of the disc (as well as her live act) features the band Joe, Marc's Brother as the backing band. And anyone who knows of these guys knows what a great band they are! And they do a great job here to flesh out the songs of Heather Eatman. Enjoy.
