The list author says: "KA-BAR has been around since 1898 making high quality knives. Once called Union Cutlery Company, KA-BAR is now well known for their fighting knives of WWII, KA-BAR still makes their favorite classics and exciting new models. KA-BAR's name change stems from the phrase "killed a bear" or "K-A-BAR." KA-BAR also makes knives for prestigious names like Becker Knife and Tool, Bob Dozier, FIN, and TDI. I currently own 5 KA-BAR knives, a "1236" bowie(My father owns one to) and a matching "1331" hatchet, a "3053" MULE, a "1300" hobo, and a "1478" TDI/LDK. I used to own a "5013" fighting knife but I decided to sell to my friend and buy Remington Tango "I" instead. I have also given a K2 Gila knife as a gift."
"I have had this knife for 3 years. It field dresses like a miracle! Definitely my best knife. A little large for lots of belt carrying so get a smaller one if you want to carry it on belt. Read reviews and photos"
"This knife will grow on you. It's very small but very well made. The only drawback is that the sheath fits it quite snug so the coating will begin to wear with sheathing. I also wish it said KA-BAR on the sheath and that there was a belt clip on it. Great for diving."
