5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Weston, June 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Real Life Story of Teenage Rebellion (Audio CD)
Mind you, I am someone who has wide and varied musical tastes. I enjoy anything from the Red House Painters, Belle and Sebastian, Elephant 6, to Yo la Tengo, GBV and pavement. So when I say that this Weston album is one of my all time favorites, its not just its importance in punk rock, but its sheer wonderfulness that transcends musical categorization. This is a record about high school. The songs function as diary entries. There is is a great cohesiveness in content. Everything from romantic boy-girl songs to darker toons such as "truth about rodney." Everything comes together, allowing the record to be played beginning to end--each song catchy and interesting. While the musical talent is nothing to write home about, weston does a lot with a little. In short, this is a must have. Top tracks include "David Soul" "Feet" "feeling stupid feelings" and "just like kurt". Also, Digger's "powerbait" is a must have for anyone who likes this sort of music.

5.0 out of 5 stars 1995 was an awesome year for punk rock in PA, August 5, 2004
This review is from: Real Life Story of Teenage Rebellion (Audio CD)
This CD is a masterpiece. (I detest the "new" Weston with their wimpy new singer who I didn't mind back when he only played guitar, as on this record). This CD, with Chuck and Dave sharing vocals, is classic 1995 punk rock. If I had a time machine, my first destination would be a Lehigh Valley, PA show with PLOW UNITED and Weston and The Ick. Every song on here is perfect to sing along to at the top of your lungs, driving with the windows down. Some of my favorite memories are doing just that--my friend Sandi and I would scream along, each of us singing either Chuck or Dave's parts through the whole CD, and then trade parts and do it all over again. Fun times. Real-life Story of Teenage Rebellion is a record that everyone who loves it, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY LOVES it--WEST CHESTER ROCK CITY knows what I'm talkin' about.

I can't believe the CD is still in print, I'm psyched it is--gotta buy it, since I only have it on vinyl and I've been dying to listen to it again.
