1.0 out of 5 stars " These Shows Are All Edited"
Come On ! Why does a company do this ? Each of the episodes on this set is Misssing four minutes of footage. These shows were so good but to do this is terrible. I just hope the Box set of the 1st season coming out is complete or I will definitely return it. Back in the 1950's - 1960's all half hour shows were 26 min. and the hour shows were 52 min. Nowadays the shows...

What a classic television show. Great comedy and great actors. Walter Brennen is at his best. A must have for anyone who misses true television comedy.

1.0 out of 5 stars dirty trick, August 14, 2009
I have started collecting the real mcCoys and now have seasons 1 2 and 3. I went to see if season 4 is available yet and they have combined season 3 and 4. You can't get just season 4!! I don't want another copy of season 3!! What a dirty trick. Sure hope they don't continue to do this.

5.0 out of 5 stars REAL MCCOYS-TV TRIVIA, December 10, 2003

This review is from: The Real McCoys - Vol. 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
One fact makes the real mccoys special is that its an early tv series with an hispanic regular, puerto rican tony martinez as pepino garcia. In the great egg war the second story of 1957, charles lane plays harry poulson, sally field fans remener him as dr. quinoness from the 1976 film SYBIl, he made a lot of tv appearences in mr. bevis a twilight zone story, he;s orson bean's boss, in humbug not to be spoken here, a bewitched story, he;s jesse mortimer, he's been on dobie gillis, mr. ed, a variety of shows, even here in 1957, he looks old. in its a womans world, reta shaw know to some people as martha from hope langes sitcom the ghost and mrs. muir plays councilwoman euncie webster and in you can cheat an honest man, joseph kearns remember as george wilson from the dennis the menace series plays george bailey. Later on inthe series there were episodes that showcased the acting talents of hispanic tony martinez, like the matador or pepino mccoy where he entertains restaurant customers by singing cuanto le gusta

5.0 out of 5 stars THE REAL McCOYS, December 9, 2003

This review is from: The Real McCoys - Vol. 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
To anyone who associates country shows with the beverly hillbillies, i say it was the mccoys not the clampetts who were tvs first country folk, you;ll find the situations more realistic here, that is you wont hear, report to miss hathaway, miss bosom er uh i mean miss benson, Walter Brennans changes in character at that start he could be cantankerous, dag nad it, let me be, i aint no invalid, but he mellows out as the years go by but of course that all depends on the story, the final season started with grandpa pymgalion whicch features tina louise as tilda hicks and answers the question what of tina ha played mary ann instead of ginger on gilligans island, you'll see that hassie mccoy is no backswood bimbo, in the storyline richard crenna is not little lukes father but his brother, little luke showed up in the vigil a 1957 lassie story as jimmy travis, so buy this video, i think you;ll find it quite different from the beverly hillbilies which is still being telecast, Butch Patrick shows up in the final season as greg howard without his eddie munster make-up

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this show, January 11, 2007
I would love to have every episode that this show made. If there is a way to get more episodes I will buy them. Also the show Major Dad starring Gerald McRaney and the show Dear John. Amazon has more shows of the style that I love. Clean family fun with out the cursing and sex and the shows of a variety that I can sit down with my 5 year old and instill family values.
Show me those and I will buy them.

i bought this dvd thinking that i would get season 3&4 for the price of one ..... because i can buy a whole season for about 25 dollars...
not so .....volume 3&4 is misleading...you only get 4 episodes plus one bonus episode that i can not get to play....i was so frustrated, because it was used and it cost me 18 dollars plus to get just 4 episodes... what a rip off..... don't buy it!!!! i don't think it is worth it.....rather buy the whole season ...you get much more for your money....i do not think, that i would have paid more than 5 dollars for only 4 episodes!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Real McCoys--Complete Season 3, August 11, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have only watched a few episodes so far, but they are clear. What surprises me is that I remember a brief ending with one of them called "The Jinx." After Orval seemingly saves the McCoy family from an explosion (planned by Grandpa, Luke and Pepino), there is an additional ending where a letter is received that Orval is back with his father, a happy man. His father writes that Orval was helping him with pounding posts. Then he tells them to please excuse the handwriting. It will be better when the doctor takes the splints off his arms. (I remember that episode especially.) What happened to those particular endings?

I am delighted that the TV series is on DVD now. I only wish you had the whole set of them. There was a season 6.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just the details, September 2, 2005
This review is from: The Real McCoys - Vol. 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Volume 2 includes two episodes.

You Can't Cheat An Honest Man (original airdate Nov. 7, 1957). When an insurance broker from L.A. shows up at the McCoys' farm with an offer to buy five acres of their useless, unplowable land, Grandpa Amos sees an opportunity to make some quick cash. But Kate and Luke won't have any part of it -- they don't think it's right to take advantage of the man. After he's told the land is worthless, he still wants to buy it. It isn't until the deal is closed that Grandpa discovers they're the ones who've been had -- by a shrewd real estate operator who knew a freeway was going to be built on their property, tripling its value. But in the end, it's still the McCoys who have the last laugh.

Volunteer Fire Department (original airdate May 22, 1958). They've only had one fire in five years, but the fire brigade is looking for volunteers. Luke and Pepino aren't interested, but Grandpa Amos, former head bucket for the Smokey Corners Fire Department back home in West Virginia, is anxious to join. When the fire chief tells Grandpa he's too old, he's embarassed to tell his family. That's when the chief's barn catches fire and Grandpa, leading the volunteers, saves the day.
