3.0 out of 5 stars The Final Verdict
This is Svala's first single, well what do I think about it? Lets just poot it this way, if I was a little 12 year old girl who adored Britney Spears and such pop queens, then in that case I would appreciate and like the new single from Svala. I personally dont recognize this pop style as being real pop and real music in general, i recongnize it as being pop for little...

5.0 out of 5 stars "THE REAL ME" OR THE REAL YOU!!!, August 3, 2001
This review is from: Real Me (Audio CD)
A new popstar and she's from Iceland, how funky in that, not as funky as her first bound to be hit "The Real Me"! This song sound foreign which is all good because we are always in need of a new sound.

Track Listing:

1.) The Real Me: This is Svala's first hit single and I'm sure there's going to be more.

2.) Conversation with Svala: This is a lil biography of Svala and how she got started.

3.) Close To You: Like Britney Spears and every other pop artist they each have their own sound and after listening to "The Real Me", Svala has definately made a unique sound for herself.

4.) Love Me, Love me not: This song like Svala's other music has its own original sound to it and is up-tempo.

People should always keep their ears open for new music, and your ears should be open for Svala!

4.0 out of 5 stars another awesome popstar, July 28, 2001
This review is from: Real Me (Audio CD)
I am a college student, so I'm not some 12-year old, but I love Britney Spears and all the other pop stars like Christina Aguilera and Eden's Crush. From my point of view, I find this single amazingly awesome. The rythm is awesome. I think her voice is very strong, and I admire her for it. I really love the part when she goes, "I'm so in love with you." I think the single has a slightly mature tone to it. It's dramatic and profound. The lyrics really express my own feelings. I can totally be drawn to it. I personally can't wait until the album comes out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent Album, May 17, 2007

Svala's album The Real Me might be unknown to many. If you liked Brittney Spears' early records then Svala's The Real Me should fit right into your collection. It's just basic teen pop music that goes in one ear and out the other, but this record is equal to anything Brittney Spears every made.

4.0 out of 5 stars Iceland's Answer To Britney, July 4, 2001
This review is from: Real Me (Audio CD)
Not a bad debut single from Iceland's Svala. Working with several Swedish songwriters, she comes up with an appealing midtempo pop tune. She doesn't possess the most amazing voice on this recording, but she can hold her own. Also on this single is a brief description of her upcoming album, along with snippets of two album tracks, "Close To You" and "Love Me, Love Me Not", both which show much promise when paired with this above average tune.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Like A Mini-Album!, July 9, 2001
This review is from: Real Me (Audio CD)
This CD is pretty spectacular. Although shorter (six minutes) it is a wonderful debut single. The title track "The Real Me" is about her and a guy she wants to get a little closer to "Get closer to me, yeah I wanna feel your body" As lame as it may sound to some people, Svala is a wonderful artist.

The Next Track is like an interlude "Conversation" She discusses what her album will be like. She recorded internationally, and the album is one she's very proud of, and can't wait to see it out!

Track three, "Close To You" (Snippet) is a Ballad. A soft tune but nice melody that should be enjoyed by all. A must-hear. She speaks of what it's about at the start.

Track Four "Love Me, Love Me Not......." is a fast, upbeat song. Off & On relationship.....A Cool tune with effects screaming out loud! Once again, Svala speaks of what the tune is like.

Although more expensive on the internet, do what you need to to buy "Svala-The Real Me"

3.0 out of 5 stars The Final Verdict, July 17, 2001

This is Svala's first single, well what do I think about it? Lets just poot it this way, if I was a little 12 year old girl who adored Britney Spears and such pop queens, then in that case I would appreciate and like the new single from Svala. I personally dont recognize this pop style as being real pop and real music in general, i recongnize it as being pop for little girsl of the maximum age og maybe 14.

So if you ar looking for real artisitic pop then in that case this should be your choice because infact what this single is, is nothing more to me then just an average Britney Spears clone. What also bothers me about this sort of Pop is that the messages never seem to change, every single song is always about a girl who whants some dude really badly, and it is very clear that this is xectly what little 13 years old girls think about.

So the final verdict is that this album is nothing more thatn a moderately poor Britney Spears imitation. Buy it if you are 10 - 14 years of age.
