Editorial Reviews

Memphis Tennessee has a long and rich history for supporting music and entertainment. Project Pat, a rapper originating from Memphis, is the elder brother of Juicy J, co-founder of the Three 6 Mafia. Although not an official member, he has collaborated with Three 6 Mafia several times over the years, and members of the group have produced all of his albums.

Let me first say that i had this album a week before it drop and i still brought it. The album gets a 3.8 out of 5, listening to DJ Scream - History Of Violence had me pumped to get this thinking it would be like Ghetty Green or or Mister Don't Play. This i a mix between Walkin' Bank Roll and Crook By The Book, i'll probably listen to it more than Walkin Bank Roll.

Let me tell u i am a fan of the whole hypnotize camp posse probably the number 2 fan, the point is dj paul and juicy j tried but ended up being a subpar effort. The album barely hits 60 mins which really disappointed me because I'm used to the old Three 6 and all the albums being the atleast 74mins. The songs are short mostly 3 min songs with the exception of the single (you owe me 15mins of music paul and juicy). My Favorite Tracks are 3, 4, 6, 8 & 16. Three tracks off History Of Violence are tight (2,5,15). 8 out of 15 Tracks not including the intro and outro, not bad the tracks i didn't mention were just ok or not, there's something about the track horny but i cant quite put my finger on it ("These Hoes Got Me Horny") and where is Lil Wyte, Frayser Boy or atleast Chrome no album appearances from them.

HCP From 1991 to 2001 was a hot decade run, why change what works. I'm Still "Ridin in the Chevy" looking for "Neighborhood Hoes".

P.S. Buy the album like i did, i only bootlegged it to brag i had it first while i was blasting it in my whip. Promotion Baby

This cd got some serious heat to it. I cant let it cool off from being in rotation so much. If you have supported Pat up to this point you will know that he always gives you your moneys worth of an album. This is that gutta, grimy type .ish right here. GO OUT AND GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Bottom line is. This album is hard. real hard!! If your a true hypnotize fan from the late 90's you WILL love this album. Paul and juice take it back to the essence, and Pat is in rare form. I told my boy last night this album is his best since Mista Don't Play. Don't think I really need to say more than that.

First of,I had this album saturday night,i had the "advanced copy".but yesterday i actually bought the album to support project pat,not only for that, but is because this album is incredible! this deffenitly the best album pat has put out, since he came outta prision.

this album is equally as hot as to "mista dont play" i know,i know that album is a classic.but trust me im a big time hypnotized minds fan,i got all their albums, plus all their underground stuff.

but for this album,dj paul & juicy j took it back to the mista dont play dayz.the beats on here are just incredible.the people on here talkin about this album is not that hot are plain crazy. they must be casual fans or something.trust me dont pay no mind to their reviews this a must buy right NOW! if you were waitin for the mista dont play dayz, well buy this album, those dayz came back with a vengance.i thought those days would never come back.

and is funny how people on here dont talk about the production of the album, which leads me to bealive dat, they just skimmed thru the album,or dont know good music when they hear it. all my three 6 mafia/project pat fans know that three 6 is very known for their production, which reviwers on here are yet to talk about in detail.i liked every single song on here, and thats pretty rare for me to say that, there's probly only like two song's on here that they sound like they were experimenting on,but arent that bad.

well let me tell you's.dj paul & juicy j got a surprise for all of you fans, they brought back those double beats,u know when in the middle of the song they just SWITCH UP to an entire diffrent one? like they did on mista dont play? OMG!

Project Pat is a Dirty South veteran and legend with his unique rapping style, infectious hooks, and classic songs. Project Pat has been somewhat of a dirty south hero ever since his classic debut album Ghetty Green and it's only right on his 6th album Real Recognize Hater he returns to form. Admittedly his last two albums, while having their moments of glory and despite successful singles such as Good Googly Moogly and Don't Call Me No Mo, felt rushed and disappointing. Real Recognize Real is a much more consistent effort.

DJ Paul & Juicy J on the production have shown they haven't fallen off at all because the beats are hard, dark, and menacing showing the real sound of Three Six Mafia that they've been straying from on their albums. Project Pat lyrically delivers on this album (although nothing to the extent of Mista Don't Play) and his flow is as tight as ever. OJ Da Juiceman & Gucci Mane appear on the album on Keep It Hood and Bang Bang Smack Smack respectively and both are great songs. I Be Fresh, Catch A Hot One, Aint Scared of Ya, Pogo Stick, Dats The Way You Do It, and My Money are all jamming. From those titles, it's easy to see this isn't a mainstream type album. This is straight gutter music, the kind that Three Six Mafia specializes in and in this case they hit the nail on the head. 4 stars.
