This is an amazing book for several reasons. Yes the recipes are simple but elegant, but even better are the recipe keys. If you have a younger budding, adventurous chef in your family, someone you would like to encourage with more than the usual focus of cookies and cakes for the younger cook, this is perfect. There are many recipes keyed in as kid friendly. The other keys that recipes are labeled with are: 30 minutes or less, heart-healthy, one pot, vegetarian, no-cook, and freezable. Also in the back of the book before the index is nutritional information including calories which I have wondered why that information is missing from so many new cookbooks

Most recipes are one to a page with pictures which again helps that younger or not so young cook. There are at a glance guides for chicken, beef, pork lamb, pasta; which again is ideal to help any cook. Menu suggestions are included as well as baking pan substitutions, something I often need.

The included recipes are appetizers, soups, dinner salads, poultry, beef, pork, lamb, pasta, seafood, vegetarian mains, side dishes, and desserts.

This is just perfect for someone starting out or a more advanced cook who wants a simplified but not too demanding cookbook.

My wife bought a copy of this great book since she had enjoyed a couple of the recipes that showed up in the Real Simple magazine. As soon as she got her copy and leafed through it, in went the order for 4 more copies to give as presents. Good food, that actually takes longer to eat than cook. You won't be disappointed with the real simple instructions, pictures and results!!

A wonderful collection of recipes. Simple to make and tasty to eat. My husband needs a gluten free diet and the recipes in this book are a great source for a healthy meal.

Real Simple is one of my favorite magazines and I ordered their book of Real Simple Best Recipes for my daughters as they are busy and need something easy and good to cook at the end of the day. The book doesn't disappoint: the recipes are really simple. The photography is excellent. But if you can cook, as we can, you may find yourself chosing a recipe and then saying, "an onion and some garlic would be good here. And some chopped basil". We have tried several of the recipes, my husband and I, and have found them delicious....with a few extra herbs. Starting out easy in a cooking career is the best way to learn and our girls love the book.

I purchased this cookbook a few weeks ago and have made well over a dozen of the recipes. My husband and I love the recipes in this cookbook! We work full time and this is our most used cookbook. For simple, easy and delicious weeknight meals this is the best cookbook that I have found. I prepare my menu plan and shop over the weekend so I have all the ingredients for the week. I purchased this book because I love the magazine. I tried 2 recipes so far and have been pleased with the results. The pictures are lovely, the organization of the book is very handy and I believe any cook so likes to dabble in "real simple" gourmet cooking will find this book a good addition to his/her library.

The book is great lots of nice pictures and the recipes are wonderful. I have made many of the recipes and family and friends rave about the results. Glad I bought the book.

I love this book! The recipes are exactly what I wanted: simple yet delicious! After trying a couple recipes in the Real Simple Magazine, I decided to take a chance on this book and am so glad I did. Each recipe comes with a large, beautiful color photo (something I really wanted in a cookbook) and with simple step-by-step instructions. The ingredients are often items you may have in your pantry or are easy to find in the grocery store... and I have yet to come across a recipe that requires a huge amount of time or a large grocery list. I would guess I've made about 6 or 7 recipes and they've all been absolutely delicious (and my husband and I are pretty critical about what we cook!). And if you're curious about the nutritional value of each recipe, you can find that in the back of the book. I highly recommend!

The book has real simple, easy and delicious recipes for the working cook. Uses basic items from your cupboard to make quick and easy meals. Thank you to Real Simple magazine for publishing all my favorites in one book.

I use this cookbook almost every week. The recipes are simple but still delicious. I love that there is a pretty photo for each recipe. I also like that many of the recipes have tips on either ingredient substitutions, information about the ingredients or cooking tips.
