Great gameplay - passing, shooting, crossing are all very smooth. Very good graphics. Realistic ball physics. And nice to have all the real teams, players, etc. Really fun to play.

Wow, I didn't expect this soccer game to be as good as it is! I've played EA's soccer game and I'm surprised to say that Real Soccer 2009 beats it in quite a few categories. Check this game out! Don't pass it up.

NOTE: I downloaded this game from the Nintendo DSi store. The game is the same version, as the cartridge, in everything except for the number of leagues and number of teams.
This game has 4 game modes: Cup (competition for various trophies), League (season play), Exhibition, Penalty Kicks, and Training module. The training module is an essential part of this game which gives you the skills to learn basic and advanced moves. You can even train your team without competitors. A nice addition is the Custom Photo mode which can allow you to personalize your ball, flag, and face in the game. Graphics and sound are very good for a handheld game. You hear the crowd cheer and sing, in addition to the sound effects of the officials. Gameplay is robust with the ability to make substitutions, change formations, change the offensive and defensive levels of your team, match tactics and with the touch screen, you can tune up your formation in real time. Game control has a high learning curve and controls incorporate the directional pad, X, Y, A, B, L, R buttons and the touch screen. There are many different leagues with over 100 teams. Each player has an in depth profile with every attribute rated on a 1-100 numerical score with his greatest strength highlighted in yellow. This game would suit any soccer enthusiast. It is one of the most detailed soccer games that I have every played.

My 9-year old son is an avid soccer player. After the World Cup he really became interested in its history and teams. We bought the game for a fraction of price and since then it became his favorite game topping the new Mario Bros. It gives a sense of participating in real games. As an additional bonus, he likes to locate the countries he is playing with on the map and find facts about them. Money well spent.

Birthday present for my son! He is a real soccer fan & loves the game. Still learning the ins & outs as it is a little difficult but he still loves the game.

This game is great! This is according to my 7 1/2 year old. He says that it is a bit hard but after practice and playing he does really well. The price was great as it was on sale for only $7! Cannot beat that for a brand new game. He likes soccer so if your son or daughter likes soccer then this is a great game. He also is learning more about soccer as well from this game.
