Book Description

May 2002 Real Solutions Series
Although most of the news coverage on ADHD is about children, research is showing that up to 50% of the adult population is also affected by ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). Often several members of a family suffer from the symptoms, which disrupt life at home, social life, schoolwork, and daily performance on the job.

Christians are not exempt from ADHD. Their faith in Jesus Christ--while not an antidote for their inability to concentrate, sense of failure, anxiety, difficulty in relationships, chaotic energy, addictions, and depression--is nevertheless a lifeline. In this book, John Timmerman approaches ADHD from a strongly Christian point of view, combining medical information, commonsense advice for daily living, and spiritual hope.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

The Real Solutions Series - providing the wisdom and help people need to deal with common, difficult, real problems.

In a compelling and candid style, the author--a successful husband, father, and professor--shares his experience of living with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). He persuasively describes ADHD as an illness that can be treated with therapy and medicine. He insists that a person with ADHD must understand that "I have an illness, but I am not the illness I have." The book provides tools for diagnosing the illness and solid advice on how to live with ADHD successfully every day.
