This toy is a poorly designed piece of junk.

The arms barely move to punch and don't line up with the opponent targets on the body no matter where you position them.

Please note that the description is wrong- there are absolutely no working lights or sounds with this product.

According to the repsonse I received from the Seller: "We discovered that the description of the product is wrong (lights and sounds), though the UPC matches the listing."

The product itself is fairly flimsy and the robots do not match up very well when "fighting".

I was hoping that this was going to be similar in nature to the old "Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots set I used to have when I was a kid. This isn't even close...and certainly not worth the $50 price tag!

The movie ('Real Steel') was excellent. This product is not.

I bought this toy for my grandson but when we got it he was not very happy with it. It was hard to work and it was not easy to hit it in the right places to pop off the arms or head. We finally returned it.

My husband was excited to see this because it reminded him of the Rock 'em sock 'em Robots he had as a kid. We bought this for our four year old for Christmas. He was so excited when he opened it that he just could not wait to play with it. My husband immediately took it out of the box and put it together. Although assembly is quick and easy, this toy does not work well at all! Within 5 minutes of opening this toy, our son's excitment turned to frustration and disappointment. It is extremely hard to control and as one other reviewer said the robots do not match up well enough to "fight". This toy is a poorly designed piece of junk. Needless to say, it will be going back to the store. Don't waste your money on this POS. Loved the movie hate the toy!

My son and I saw the movie and we loved it. My son asked for this set for Christmas, but it was a real disappointment! Fails advertisement it doesn't work. The front of the box shows the heads being knocked up, but can't even hit the other boxer with the lousy mechanisms. Thus toy SUCKS Jakk Pacific should be arrested for bringing junk to market.

Well, there goes $40. My excitement was through the roof to set up this toy for my son. After putting it together Christmas night, I tried it out. I spent 20 minutes analyzing the set-up because it was impossible to punch the fighters in the chest or head.

Now reading the reviews, I see that this product is just sub par and should be discontinued. Unfortunately for me, I through away the box and receipt. I'm heading to look for the real Rock'em Sock'em game.

Game is poorly designed. We too hoped it would be a great rock'em sock'em game but just isn't anything close.

The robot "punches" don't line up to the "target Points" being these two triggers on the chest and head. Some of the targets are impossible to line up any punch to hit...so what is the point. I have no idea how this toy made it through play testing/quality control. It just don't work! The games is so pretty that they forgot to make it work.

Second issue, one arm on a robot we purchased would always eject when we pushed the punch key. This may be a isolated defect, but that coupled with the bad design had us return it and then buy good old fashioned Rock-Sock robots..

Cheers!

Unfortunately, when this product arrived and was opened and put together, one of the arms did not punch right and would not hit the right spot on the opponent bot.

This was the first gift I ordered for Christmas and the one gift that was a bust... bad design.. the robots don't line up to hit each other the right way. This was a big disappointment and is still sitting on the floor in my hallway in pieces when all of the other gifts have been used. I suppose I will throw it out, it's not even worth keeping.
