5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, March 1, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Real Tooth Fairy (Paperback)
This is an excellent book for parents to read to their 5-7 year olds. It explains in an imaginative way how the tooth fairy can look just like a parent. I'm a first grade teacher and it is the book I pull off the shelf when the first child in my class loses a tooth. The story keeps the children on the edge of their seats and does not disappoint in the end!

This book provides a clever answer to the tooth fairy question. I am a kindergarten teacher and this book is a superb read aloud! It invites the reader to use expressive voices, making the book a fun experience for the listeners. I bought the book because my daughter's name is Elise, but was delighted with its content! This is an absolute must-have!

This book is a great book for children who have doubts about the existence of the "tooth fairy" or believe their parents are the "tooth fairy".

It's about the toothfairy, and a little girl who sees the toothfairy and thinks it's her mom.But she has a fight with her friend about the toothfairy. The fight was about the girl's friend lost a tooth and thought it was his dad. Her mom tells her about the fairy. So the girl tells her friends about the fairy. Then she tricks the toothfairy.I liked it because when I was little my mom would read it to me when I had a lose tooth.I loved reading it.It's the best book I've ever read, because it's kind of easy for staters.I recmmend this book to all the libaries in the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, November 8, 2007

This review is from: The Real Tooth Fairy (Paperback)
I read this with my seven year old daughter after she lost her second tooth. We LOL so hard! I was laughing because we had just placed her tooth under her pillow. The story then lead me to believe that it was revealing the fairy's true identity: the mother. It must have been shocked laughter coming from me - to think someone would write such a book and give it away! I continued reading to find a clever explanation of the who tooth fairy is. I was delighted by the story. Beautiful illustrations throughout.

We first read this book at the dentist office to our 4 year old. When we got home he really wanted it so I ordered it. He anxiously waited everyday for it to come. It has turned out to be his favorite book. He can't wait till it's his turn to lose his teeth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never a stranger, April 14, 2009
This review is from: The Real Tooth Fairy (Paperback)
This book is perfect for the 6-year-old set, still heavily invested in the magical dream world of childhood, where the tooth fairy reigns supreme.

The book has fabulous illustrations, and a story line that taps completely into the child's hopes and dreams, which at that age still skirt far from the edge of reality, bringing the child an additional sense of wonderment at being alive.

In this story, Elise wakes one night to see her mother slipping into her room to retrieve her lost tooth and leave her a note and prize under her pillow. After a heated discussion with her friends about the "real tooth fairy" Elise confronts her mother, who then explains, in magical tones, why the tooth fairy is never a strange.

The effect is a delight, all the way around. This is a story my kids loved when they were six-ish. Yours will too.
