About the Author

As a child advocate and practicing attorney, Kirk Seufert has seen the pain and suffering that occurs when kids begin to get into trouble. Licensed to practice in Colorado and Tennessee, Mr. Seufert has spent the past several years focusing on getting kids out, and trying to keep them out, of legal and other types of trouble. His experience as a trial attorney, guardian ad litem, counselor, and special referee (juvenile court judge) has made him accutely aware of the serious issues and potential trouble facing today's youth. He's also come to realize that by the time a child gets into trouble requiring the services of an attorney, it's often too late for anything beyond damage control. And that's why Mr. Seufert wrote his book - to make kids think about trouble and the life-destroying damage it can do, before they end up in court, prison, the hospital or a worse place.

5.0 out of 5 stars A powerful little book for all teen-agers., November 17, 1999

This review is from: The Real Truth About Trouble: A Little Can Turn Into A Lot (Paperback)
Mr. Seufert's book goes right to the heart of the many problems facing today's teen-ager. The case histories stay with you. The format is interesting and easy to read. The simplicity and repetition of "The Real Truth About Trouble," i.e. drugs, sex, guns is effective. Mr. Seufert allows no games when dealing with his young clients yet, one can see how sentative he is to their plight and their pain. Overall, this is a powerful little book and should be in the hands of not only teen-agers at risk but all teens. The information in this book could benefit so many, from parents to the school classroom, from Juvenile Courts to counselors and from church programs for youths to shelters for homeless children.

This is a book every parent should give to their teenager. My brother was starting to get into a little trouble when I gave him this book. He loved this book - carried it in his backpack for days - and it became his bible. It was written in a language he could relate too and it played a large role in his getting back on the right path. It is such a great bargain for such a huge benefit! If you have teenagers - buy it today!
