This review is from: Real Vampires Have More to Love (Paperback)
Glory St Clair is a vampire with man troubles. But troubles like Glory's are every woman's fantasy; three hot, sexy men are in love with her: Blade, her sire and on-again-off-again lover of four-hundred years, whose need to protect conflicts with Glory's need for independence; Ray Caine, her vampire protégé and the rock star whose songs make millions of women swoon; Valdez, her shape-shifter former bodyguard who is busy opening a new nightclub in downtown Austin, he is the one man who knows all of Glory's secrets, maybe even her weight, and loves her anyway.
With their inheritance in jeopardy the children of her former nemesis have a few billion reasons to want Glory dead. Their attempts on her life make Glory re-examine her ability to be self-sufficient even as she continues to refuse Blade's offer to hire a new bodyguard. Meanwhile, Glory is busy helping her BFF, Flo, plan her wedding and is determined to make Flo's bachelorette party the event of the century, although Siren Aggie hopes the bridal shower she is giving Flo will make the bachelorette party Glory is planning look like cookies and milk for kindergarteners. While Blade is away on business, Glory discovers Ray has found a gorgeous, skinny vampire to take over his education and that Valdez harbors a deep, dark secret that could threaten her very existence. Who can she trust? Will her need for independence mean the end of eternity for Glory St. Clair? Don't miss the latest installment of the Real Vampire series - fun, hot, sexy!

Real Vampire Have More to Love by Gerry Bartlett
Paranormal Romance- Dec. 7th, 2010 4 stars Light-hearted and zany, this hilarious vampire series is a hoot. Readers who enjoy the paranormal romances books by Kerrelyn Sparks will definitely enjoy this one too! Glory St. Clair is a vampire who declared independence from her handsome maker Jeremy Blade. Jeremy is the love of Glory's life. He wants to marry her and shower her with his riches but, unfortunately, he also smothers her. Jeremy turned Glory into a vampire in the 1600's and his old fashioned views of women are stifling. Glory realizes that she has to try to stand on her own 2 feet, so she has separated from him. But her good friend Flo is getting married and her husband to-be has asked Jeremy to be his best man! In addition, a past love interest named Ray is also coming to town on unrelated business and Jeremy and Ray hate each other! Plus, her best-friend and ex-furry guardian, Rafe has now transformed into a good-looking guy who is sending out flirtations to Glory. And she can't but help notice how hunky he is. But Rafe's ex- wife is bent on causing trouble for her. When she thinks things couldn't get worse she is attacked by 2 humans bent on murdering her because she had to kill their father (a vampire slayer) in self defense. And she has been put in charge of throwing bachelorette party! Will Glory survive the stress? Glory grows on you. I liked that she is not the typical thin heroine and has plenty of curves. Glory is a bit self-conscious about her looks and mourns that she was turned vampire when she feels she was overweight. Because of this she lacks some self-confidence and is very relatable. I also liked that she is very girly and feisty. Her main squeeze, Jeremy, is very sexy and I enjoyed them together. The entire casts of characters are also fun to read. Even the villains are caricatures that are amusing in their own ways. But this story also had some surprising twists that kept it fast-paced and upbeat. I really wanted to know how the long relationship between Glory and Jeremy would turn out. I felt they were good for each other but has issues that needed to be resolved. This is an entertaining series. Glory's love life is a mess, and it is fun to read her trying to juggle all her relationships and death threats. Quirky, optimistic and unabashedly cheerful, this book will lighten your mood and keep you wanting more. Reviewed by Steph from the Romance Book Club

Charming, Funny, and Heartwarming,

Real Vampires Have More to Love
By Gerry Bartlett December 2010, Berkley ISBN: 978-0425236970 Gloriana St. Clare, better known as Glory to her vampire friends and lovers is determined to declare her independence from bodyguards. Trouble starts on page one as her former bodyguard Rafe has shifted from his dog form into an irresistible human man. Rafe has a penchant for cinnamon rolls and strutting around in a towel, both of which drive Glory to distraction. In this latest installment of the Real Vampire series, Glory learns two of her former vampire lovers are returning to Austin: Jeremy Blade, her maker and Ray Caine, a rock star. How is a modern vamp-girl to cope with three lovers? While planning her best friend's wedding, Glory barely escapes a deadly blow from the greedy offspring of a vampire slayer who Glory had no choice but to kill. The late villain, Westwood, left a will that awards his billions to either his son or daughter, whoever manages to take down dad's assassin. Glory's determination to stay independent is tested again and again. Ms. Bartlett continues to add new and intriguing aspects to the Vampire World in Austin she has created. For those new to the series, have no fear. Ms. Bartlett is a master at providing just the right amount of information to all readers exactly when it's needed. I found myself laughing out loud on the first page and stayed hooked until the very wonderful end. If you're new to the serious, you'll want to take a bite out of the previous books after reading this one. REAL VAMPIRES HAVE MORE TO LOVE is every bit as charming, funny, and heartwarming as the previous five books. -

Time to move on,
This review is from: Real Vampires Have More to Love (Glory St. Claire) (Kindle Edition)
I am a big fan of the Real Vampire series. However, I am ready for Glory to move on without Jeremy Blade. He doesn't respect her as an individual. The only thing they have going for them is amazing sex, which gets old very quickly. I am irritated that I paid for this novel. It was not worth the money to me and I have no intention of reading her next volume either. Maybe if she decides to actually move the storyline along, I will read her stories again.

I have to say, after really looking forward to this latest installment, I was sort of disappointed. It just seemed to be this same old tired storyline between Jerry & Glory. It was also a bit disappointing that Rafe's personality altered, and bordered on boring & needy after his guard duty ended. Even though some of the sexy scenes were really hot, I thought the relationship could have been handled a bit better. It was like a mediocre movie that I just wished would end so I could head to the bathroom and get on with my life.
Having said that, I'm still glad I read the book and will probably sign-up for book #7. I just won't be first in line to read it.

I read all the books in this series and I was happy with the ending of Book 5 when Glory finally broke up with Blade but when I started reading this one. Just a few pages away to find just as always the end up making love and for that I didn't enjoy much of the book. Didn't like that at all!! They dont have a real relationship and he treats her like a property. For the other content the book was ok, as entertaining as the first ones and a new adventure of Glory St. Claire. The first ones are definately better than this one.

~everybody loves Glory~,
This review is from: Real Vampires Have More to Love (Paperback)
...and it really seems like everybody!!!! As if Glory didn't have enough man issues! Did there really need to be another one added to the mix? I've always loved Glory... even when she was going back and forth with her feelings for Jerry and Ray. But adding another man into the mix is almost too much. I always thought Rafe was great when he was shifted into dog form. He loses a bit of appeal for me in this story. I think I just miss the dog and the snarky behavior. That seems to be missing now. The rest of the story was FANTASTIC. Flo's character (Glory's BFF) is always so entertaining. She generally doesn't have a huge story but she makes the most of her appearances. I keep hoping for a good learning experience for Glory and it seems she may have had one in this story but it also may have cost her what she finds she wants the most. I hate to be so criptic but I don't want to spoil the story!

I love this series!!,
This review is from: Real Vampires Have More to Love (Paperback)
I love Gerry Bartlett's Glory St. Clair (Real Vampires) series. The characters she has created are so much fun! Glory is so relatable. She curvy and isn't happy with the way she looks - as many of us aren't. Unfortunately for her, being a vampire, she's stuck that way. She's also always on a budget which is hard for her because she has expensive taste. I SO understand that feeling!! Real Vampires Have More to Love is book 6 in the series. Since it is so far in, there may be a few spoilers below - but I'll try to keep them to a minimum! In this book we see Glory still determined to be independent. She's convinced Blade, her sexy sire and sometimes boyfriend, that she can handle herself without a bodyguard. So Valdez, the shape-shifter who had been her bodyguard, is now her roommate: her HOT roommate. And he seems interested in doing more than just guarding her body! She also has to help plan her best friend Florence's wedding and throw her a bachelorette party. Of course Flo can't make it easy for her. She wants Ray Caine, the gorgeous rock star that Glory pretended to be engaged to, to sing at her wedding. So Glory has to call in a favor with him, and when she does, it seems he's not over her. As if all that isn't enough to deal with, there's someone out to get her. Glory killed a vampire hating billionaire and now his kids are trying to kill her. This book, like the rest of the series, was an entertaining read. It was fast past and definitely kept my attention. I couldn't put it down. I already can't want for the next book, Real Vampires Don't Wear Size Six!! I hope Mrs. Bartlett keeps `em coming! |
