A good upgrade...,
This review is from: Real War: Rogue States (CD-ROM)
Real War enthusiasts will enjoy the latest in the series Rogue States, a Real War upgrade offering logic improvments and new weaponary on both sides. One caveat on this review is that I am basing it on only several "skirmish" episodes and not using online play or running any campaign scenariosWhat is there to like...the new weapons, improved graphics, pre-orders for units being built, advanced defense logic for units, movement and attack logic are a definite improvment. All of these make Rogue States a good buy if you want to upgrade from Real War. What still needs improvment...the movment logic is still a bit off...I tried to send a convoy of tanks at a target and half of them ended up getting stuck trying to cross a river. This has improved quite a bit, this should continue to be improved. I also would like to see Rogue states better integrated with the old Real War...it would be cool to go back and run the old campaign with new weapons. As far as I know this isn't the case. Lastly, there are still issues with forces causing extensive collateral damage...the new weapons are quite effective at takibng out most of your own forces as well as the enemies...I wish there was a bit better intelligence here to prevent this from happening on such a wide scale What is bad...I am all for new weapons but the ILA (terrorist Those things aside, I would say Rogue States is worth the price. The new weaponary and improved logic will give Real War addics a new opportunity to develop their tactics. Keep in mind too that ReaL War is NOT a pre-requisite for installing Rogue States.

Product Launch Test,

I am an avid Real-War gamer and the upgrade to Rogue States has been absolutely fantastic. New map additions, new units, new game play and new strategy have reinvented the original game. Although Real-War and Real-War Rogue States will continue to be great on-line (gamespy) gaming adventure, the only knock at this point is that the computer needs to be more intelligent in single user play, or it needs me to be worse. But all in all another great release by Simon and Schuster, leading the way into real simulated combat. Kind of makes you wonder if this is the actual game the experts at the pentagon use.

THIS GAME IS GREAT FUN, BUT IT ALSO ALLOWS FOR THE PRACTICE IN ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION SKILLS - THIS GAME ENHANCES THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR MANAGERS, COACHES, AND BUSINESS OWNERS. I RUN A JAIL AND IT ENHANCES MY THINKING AND EXPANDS UPON THE NEED FOR PLANNING AND / OR FLEXABILITY UPON SITUATION / CONDITION CHANGES.

Yay! First review! Haven't gotten to play this yet, but having beaten the US campaign and almost finished the ILA in the first game, I can tell that this game's going to be great. Provided that they once again obtain the vocal talents of Real American Hero R. Lee Ermey!
