Great stuff. But if the music lasts only 35 minutes shouldn't the price be half also?

Where's Strawberry Tango from the closing credits? It's from the movie "All the Pretty Horses". Also,is Chica Dificil sung in Portuguese on the CD? It is in the movie. These and other questions have kept me from buying the CD.

Finally saw this excellent film! Fantastic music...why isn't it all on the CD??Aterciopelados' "Chica Dificil" was sung in Spanish in the movie; Manu Chao's "Mingha Galera" was sung in Portuguese. Still worth owning.

The CD soundtrack from the movie Real Women Have Curves has terrific and mostly modern Latin music that you'll enjoy over and over again even if you don't speak or understand a single word of any foreign language! These melodies are truly so good that they actually transcend the boundaries that come with not knowing a foreign language; there's so much good music here that will get you up and dancing practically wherever you are! The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork is very nicely done. I would happily give this CD five stars and even more--but, unfortunately and inexplicably, "Strawberry Tango" from the closing credits is nowhere to be found on this disc. That's too bad; it's a good tune. The CD opens up with Aterciopelados performing "Chica Dificil (A Young, Difficult Woman);" and wow, how they do a great job with this number! It has a strong beat, great percussion and the lyrics are performed with passion, heart and soul. "No Le Hace" by Banda Llaneros gives us a more traditional sounding Mexican song; this is sung particularly fast so unless you know the language well you're not going to grasp the full meaning of the lyrics. At first this may disappoint you but I assure you the mood of the song is so positive you're going to enjoy this one anyway! "Qué Rico El Mambo" gets the royal treatment by one of my very favorite Cuban artists, Perez Prado. Perez and his band outdo even themselves on this number and that bass adds a nice touch to the musical arrangement. The men also harmonize flawlessly as they sing "Qué Rico El Mambo." Great! "Voy A Quitarme El Anillo (Norteño Version) (I Am Going To Remove My Ring (Northern Version)" is a beautiful, slower paced melody that charms me; Marisela sings this very well and it's perfect for dancing all alone late at night with your sweetheart in your living room. "Perdida (Loss, or Lost)" by Trio Los Panchos is another huge highlight of this CD; I have a number of their CDs in my collection and as usual Trio Los Panchos never disappoints! The percussion adds a nice touch to the guitar work on "Perdida," too. In addition, listen for "La Niña (The Little Girl)" performed by Lila Downs. "La Niña" gets a very energetic treatment and Lila makes this number really take flight! "Aquí No Sera" is more along the lines of traditional Mexican music but yet Ozomatli performs this as a most romantic number that you won't forget anytime soon. "Tenemos La Culpa (We Are Guilty, or We Are To Blame)" by Banda Llaneros is very traditional Mexican sounding music done with passion, energy--and all their hearts and souls! It all holds its own very well. "Vuelta De Hoja" has a strong beat to it; and the album ends with the short but sweet "Felicidades" performed by Jose Zamora and Manuel Edgar Lujan. If you like Latin music, especially a mixture of traditional sounding music with more modern songs, this is THE album for you! These artists all display worlds of talent; and that's grand. I definitely recommend this album.
